GENERAL SECRETARIAT OF ISTANBUL EXPORTERS’ ASSOCIATIONS

Istanbul Exporters’ Associations (IEA), operating under the Ministry of Trade, is a semi-governmental institution that began its activities in 1940. Today, IEA comprises seven sectoral associations, each representing a distinct field and serving the diverse needs of Türkiye’s export industries. These associations are: Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association, Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters’ Association, Istanbul Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, Istanbul Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters’ Association, Istanbul Fishery and Animal Products Exporters’ Association, Istanbul Dried Fruit and Products Exporters’ Association, and Ship and Yacht Exporters’ Association.

In fulfilling its mission, IEA strengthens Türkiye’s foreign trade by supporting exporters, ensuring compliance with regulations, facilitating market access, and enhancing competitiveness through research, training, trade missions, and coordination of national participation in international fairs.

Within this framework, Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association operates as a member organization under IEA, representing companies in five main categories: Alcoholic Beverages, Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Frozen Products, Canned/Preserved Products, and Fresh Fruits and Vegetables. Together, these categories encompass vegetables and roots, fresh and dried fruits, nuts, frozen items, processed preparations such as sauces and pastes, and beverages.

Türkiye combines traditional production with modern technology and internationally recognized standards to sustain a competitive alcoholic beverages sector, with fertile soils and diverse climates providing high-quality grapes and fruits, while ISO-, HACCP-, and TSE-certified facilities ensure global quality and safety. Wine remains a leading product due to Türkiye’s ancient viticulture heritage and the rich diversity of indigenous grape varieties.

Istanbul Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association supports the alcoholic beverages sector by guiding exporters on regulatory compliance, enhancing market access, and promoting capacity building in areas such as quality, branding, sustainability, and supply-chain management. For wine producers, it organizes Türkiye’s national pavilions at major international fairs, including Prowein in Düsseldorf and Wine Paris, providing a platform to showcase Turkish wines. Beyond these dedicated wine exhibitions, the Association also promotes Turkish wines at other international sectoral fairs - such as yacht, fishery, and animal products exhibitions - through tasting and promotional stands, ensuring broader visibility across complementary industries.
