Co-exhibitor of DEV'UP CENTRE - VAL DE LOIRE
Located in Touraine, between the banks of the
Cher and the Loire on clay-limestone soil, amidst
the Loire castles in Saint-Martin-Le-Beau, the
vineyard sprawls over 20 hectares.
In 2005, Xavier Weisskopf created this vineyard
which has been Organic Agriculture certified
since 2008.
The soils are worked, the harvest is by hand.
The vineyard’s wines are aged in troglodyte
cave cellars carved in the local freestone. The
grapes from each plot are pressed and vinified
separately. The wines are aged in Allier oak
barrels, stainless steel tanks, and concrete tanks
or cement egg tanks for 6 to 24 months depending
on the wine.
The vineyard’s Montlouis-sur-Loire wines are
Pétillant Naturel (ancestral method), Les Hauts de
Coulaine, Touche Mitaine, La Rochère, Le Grand
Clos, Les Vignes de Michel, Les Borderies, and
Le Grand Poirier. The vineyard also makes the
following ‘Vin de France’ wines: Chenin, Chenin
Orange, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Côt, Cabernet
Franc, Grolleau, and Rosé.
