1- New consumer trends: opportunities to be seized Vins d’Alsace, where all trends meet! Consumption habits have changed, we eat less meat, more fresh, healthy, natural products. Meals are being broken down, improvised, reinvented. In this pleasure / simplicity trend, wine takes a whole new place with a search for drinkability, accessibility, freshness, lightness ... And a significant rise for White Wines, a real taste for fresh & dry wines, cravings for bubbles, fine, structured & fruity reds! 2- Respect for Human and Nature: more than a trend, obvious for Alsace A respectful vineyard! We are moving towards a society that is increasingly aware of its responsibility in its purchasing acts. In the wine market, this change is also noticeable. Is it a fad or an underlying trend? In Alsace this environmental awareness has been deeply rooted and for a long time, which makes it a totally pioneering region in this area. 3- Alsace, an open-air showcase for all types of soil in the world Meaning & human! All over the world, terroirs are the source of any great wine. And these soils are present in Alsace! In a society in search of truth, relief, and authenticity, knowing the provenance, the origin, the history of a product makes more and more sense. Alsace is a vineyard with roots, a vineyard on a human scale.
Mélanie is the 8th generation to garden the 10ha of vineyards on the limestone hillsides of Dahlenheim, in northern Alsace. It is in these landscapes with natural biodiversity that organic farming (Ecocert) allows us to produce “vins de gastronomie”, fresh and food-friendly.
At La Cave du Vieil Armand, we are a collective of winegrowers rooted in Soultz, at the foot of the Vieil Armand mountain, a place that shapes both our identity and our wines.
Our story began in 1958, when local growers chose to move forward together, driven by shared vision and conviction, to give a voice to our vineyards and the people behind them.
Our vineyards stretch across 150 hectares, with more than half organically farmed, a commitment to sustainability we carry forward with purpose and respect to our terroir, where we grow all seven Alsatian grape varieties.
From fresh, vibrant pleasure wines to the distinctive expressions of Grand Cru Ollwiller and its historic château, second oldest in Alsace, now biodynamiccaly farmed - our wines reflects both diveristy, accessibility and depth, always anchored in a strong sense of a place, ours.
Simply our Alsace to be shared, authentically yours !
We are a family owned 18 hectare estate, dedicated to organic farming. We believe in wines that express the unique character and story of each individual parcel from which they originate.
Respect for the environment and a deep understanding of our terroir are at the heart of our daily work, enabling us to craft wines of precision, purity and authenticity.
ROLLY GASSMANN, an independent winegrower since 1611 who makes wines of character and complexity. We are fortunate to exploit 12 unique terroirs, most of which come from the limestone world, which allows us to produce wines with a strong identity that are appreciated throughout the world and which have an extraordinary capacity for ageing due to the concentration of antioxidants and minerals.
We are looking for new collaborators for a lasting partnership in countries where we are not yet present.
The 40 wines produced from our 60 ha are rated between 90 and 97 by Parker / Wine Spect. / Yves Beck.
