De Wetshof Estate Merlot is a rich and approachable red, crafted to showcase the varietal’s soft, plush character. Grapes are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, fermented in stainless steel with regular gentle pump-overs to extract colour and flavour, and matured in French oak barrels to add structure and subtle complexity. The wine offers aromas of ripe plums, red cherries and hints of mocha, while the palate is smooth and velvety, layered with red fruit, soft spice and integrated oak, leading to a lingering, elegant finish.
