Les origines de notre propriété remontent à la période gallo-romaine. Elle a pris son nom à un percepteur fermier général qui se fit construire, au 18 ème siècle, un joli château sur l’ancienne commune de St Trélody. C’ est notamment grâce à l’association « le cercle des rêveurs de l’Histoire » qu’une importante collection d’objets archéologiques a pu être rassemblée, illustrant les siècles d’activités présents sur la propriété. D’un grattoir de silex, datant du paléolithique jusqu’aux dés à coudre qui aidaient à épamprer la vigne, ces petits trésors de la vie quotidienne sont une magnifique vitrine de l’Histoire locale. Ils sont aussi le signe que bon nombre de nos ancêtres ont choisi -non par hasard- d’élire domicile sur ces terres qui se montrent aujourd’hui encore si hospitalières.

En 2019, deux passionnés de vins tchèques , rachètent le château d’Escot et entame alors un gigantesque travail de restructuration du vignoble, jusqu’alors délaissé.

Ils sont convaincus de l’originalité et du formidable potentiel de ce lieu d’exception.

Situé sur la commune de Lesparre-Médoc, à 60 km au nord de Bordeaux, le château Escot possède en effet un magnifique terroir, l’un des plus anciens de la presqu’île.

Le Médoc, région viticole mythique, sert en effet d’écrin à la propriété, située entre océan et Gironde.

Les 25 hectares qui composent le vignoble d’Escot sont composés de 60% de Cabernet-Sauvignon, de 37% de Merlot, et de 3% de Petit-Verdot, assemblage typique des grands vins du Médoc.

La variété de nos sols contribue à la complexité et richesse de nos vins: allant de l'argile, calcaire et sable, terroirs froids, favorisant une lente maturité du raisin et lui conférant des grandes qualités aromatiques; au sols graveleux au bord de l'estuaire favorisant une bonne maturité des raisins grâce au climat doux et tempéré et un bon drainage des eaux de pluies obligeant les racines à se nourrir profondément et apportant ainsi une belle concentration et complexité aromatique.

De grands défis nous attendent notamment avec la rénovation du château et la reconstruction des bâtiments techniques en 2023.

La gamme s’agrandit également avec l’arrivée de notre second vin Forêt Escot, d’une cuvée prestigieuse Trésor Escot, notre rosé Les Sorbiers Escot et notre blanc Château Escot Blanc.

Nous espérons sincèrement donner envie aux consommateurs en leur réveillant les papilles mais aussi en les accueillant dans un lieu prestigieux, chaleureux où l’humain reste le cœur de notre métier.

The origins of our property date back to the Gallo-Roman period. It took its name from a general farmer collector who had a pretty castle built in the 18th century in the former town of St Trélody.

It is thanks in particular to the association "the circle of dreamers of history" that an important collection of archaeological objects has been found out, illustrating the centuries of activity present on the property.

From a flint scraper, dating back to the Paleolithic to the thimbles that helped to strip the vine, these little treasures of everyday life are a magnificent showcase of local history.

They are also a sign that many of our ancestors chose – not by chance – to take up residence in these lands that are still so hospitable today.

In 2019, two Czech wine enthusiasts bought Château Escot and began a gigantic work of restructuring the vineyard, hitherto neglected.

They are convinced of the originality and tremendous potential of this exceptional place.

Located in the town of Lesparre-Médoc, 60 km in the North of Bordeaux, Château Escot has a magnificent terroir, one of the oldest on the peninsula.

The Médoc, a mythical wine region, serves as a showcase for the property, located between the Ocean and the Estuary of the Gironde.

The 25 hectares that make up the Escot vineyard are composed of 30% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 68% Merlot, and 3% Petit-Verdot, a typical blend of the great wines of the Médoc.

The variety of our soils contributes to the complexity and richness of our wines: ranging from clay, limestone and sand, cold terroirs, favoring a slow maturity of the grapes and giving it great aromatic qualities; gravelly soils at the edge of the estuary favoring a good maturity of the grapes thanks to the mild and temperate climate and a good drainage of rainwater forcing the roots to feed deeply and thus bringing a beautiful concentration and aromatic complexity.

Great challenges await us, especially with the renovation of the castle and the reconstruction of the technical buildings in 2023. The range is also expanding with the arrival of our second label Forêt Escot, « Forest Escot « in English, a prestigious cuvée, Tresor Escot « Treasure Escot » in English, our rosé wine, Les Sorbiers Escot, and our white wine, Château Escot Blanc.

We sincerely hope to inspire consumers by awakening their taste buds but also by welcoming them in a prestigious, warm place where the human remains the heart of our work.

Château Le Crock is classified as a Cru Bourgeois (Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel since vintage 2018). Its vineyard is exceptionally located right between Cos d’Estournel and Montrose and is also undergoing an organic conversion and will be certified starting from 2025 vintage. The property is owned by the Cuvelier family and both of its wines Château Le Crock and La Croix St Estephe (2nd wine) are distributed exclusively by Maison H.Cuvelier & Fils. Being part of the Cuvelier family estates portfolio, the wines are produced by the same team and using the same techniques as Château Léoville Poyferré (2ème GCC and flagship of the family). Maison H.Cuvelier & Fils also owns Château Moulin Riche in Saint Julien and Cuvelier Los Andes in Argentina.

Château Laffitte Carcasset is one of the oldest wine estates in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, with over 200 years of expertise. 

The history of Château Laffitte Carcasset began in 1759, when the estate was first mentioned on a map. Shortly afterwards, in 1767, it was recorded on the Belleyme map as "Le Carcasset", located in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation. In 1781, Jean Laffitte, a king's lawyer in Bordeaux, bought the property that later gave it his name. 

Over the years, the estate has been owned by several families, until Pierre Rousseau took the helm in 2016 and carried out major renovations. Our history is marked not only by tradition and heritage, but also by the passion of its owners.

Château Laffitte Carcasset's philosophy in the vineyard and cellar is reflected in its commitment to excellence and sustainability. 

The vineyards, rich in gravel and interspersed with marine limestone and deep layers of clay, allow natural drainage and offer the vines protection during dry periods. 

In the winery, tradition combines with modern know-how to produce wines of remarkable quality and complexity that reflect the terroir of Saint-Estèphe.

Domaines UIJTTEWAAL represents the family estate created by Adrien Uijttewaal, a farmer with Dutch roots.

  In the 1980s, Adrien left the family dairy farm to work the grape harvest in the Médoc. He became a winemaker and built a 45-hectare estate from scratch with the ambition of creating wines in the purest tradition, renowned for their high quality—a gamble that paid off!

  At the same time, he never abandoned his passion for livestock farming. The estate is still home to 200 Blonde d'Aquitaine cows, a symbol of the strong connection between the land, the vine, and the animals.

The second generation is now taking up the mantle: In 2017, Elise joined the estate after completing her studies in agricultural engineering, with the challenge of raising awareness of the estate's wines in France and internationally. Her partner, Adrien Albistur, joined her in 2021 and focuses on production.

Labadie wines brings together the Bibey family properties. The 72 hectares vineyard spread over the communes of Bégadan and Jau-Dignac-Loirac covers the production of three châteaux: Labadie , Pontet Barrail and Moulin Neuf. They produce warm, approachable, fruity wines that are easy to drink and have good ageing potential, keeping their balance over time. The wines tell the story of a passionate winegrower. En 1956, Jean Taudin, grand-père maternel de Mr Frédéric Cruchon, crée la cave St Roch à Queyrac avec un groupement de vignerons. Il en fût le président durant une trentaine d’année. Il y fait vinifier le vin du Château Les Trois Manoirs (anciennement Château Les Trois Tétons), en ce qui concerne les chais ils se trouvaient où se situe actuellement Lestage-Chevillon.

En 1987, Jean Pierre Cruchon fait l’acquisition de parcelles en AOC Médoc sur la commune de Gaillan-en-Médoc. Parmi ces parcelles, trois sont situées sur un hameau nommé sur le cadastre « Chante-Merle» dont Mr Cruchon décide alors de prendre comme nom de Château.

A ses débuts, Mr Cruchon porte sa récolte à la Cave Saint Roch sur la commune de Queyrac.

En 1989, construction d’un hangar à matériel.

En 1995, il sera transformé en chai. Cette même année, Jean Pierre Cruchon décide de vinifier dans ses chais situés sur la propriété.

En 1996, pour la première année de vinification, après avoir obtenu son BTSA viticulture, Frédéric Cruchon rejoint son père Jean Pierre.

Frédéric Cruchon met son dynamisme et son ambition au service du domaine.

Le château Chantemerle comprend alors neuf d’hectares de vignes, un cuvier et un chai à barriques de 200 m² chacun. Cela représente environ 400 hectolitres de vins vinifiés et élevés en méthode traditionnelle.

En 1997 construction d’un chai à barriques.

En 1998, construction du premier chai de stockage à bouteilles, puis de conditionnement pour la commercialisation des vins.

En 2005, après la disparition de son grand –père, Frédéric récupère le vignoble, la vinification du château Les Trois Manoirs est élaboré au Château Chantemerle.

En 2008, Frédéric Cruchon devient le gérant du château Chantemerle. Depuis ses premières vinifications, il a su prendre possession du domaine et s’investir dans l’amélioration du vignoble mais aussi des infrastructures.

Aujourd’hui le vignoble se compose de différentes parcelles de vignes d’âges très différents allant de la jeune plantation à plus de 50 ans. C’est pourquoi nous pouvons faire des vins de grande qualité.

Cabernet-sauvignon, cabernet-franc et merlot sont des cépages traditionnels du Médoc qui bénéficie d’un climat océanique. La proximité de deux masses d’eau importantes (l’océan Atlantique et l’estuaire de la Gironde) crée un microclimat très favorable à la culture de ces cépages. Ils sont travaillés toute l’année avec le plus grand soin pour donner des raisins qui arriveront à parfaite maturité.

Chaque année nous apportons des améliorations ou de aménagements visant à augmenter encore la qualité de nos vins.
