Enterpreneurs since 1831, the Boroli family dedicated itself first to the textile field, then to publishing, and today it is involved in the wine industry. In the nineties, Silvano and Elena Boroli felt the need to reconnect with nature, far from the frenetic rhythms of modern life. They transformed their passion for wine and the Langhe region into commitment and dedication. In 2000, Achille, the third of four children, joined the company, contributing to turning the demanding job in the vineyards into something significant and great. It became a source of great satisfaction.
EN: Cantina Bovio is located in La Morra, in the heart of the Barolo region, and was established in the 1970s by Gianfranco Bovio. After renovating his father Alessandro’s cellar and planting new vineyards, Gianfranco launched his production with the first Nebbiolo in 1976, followed by the renowned Barolo Gattera and Barolo Arborina, which have become the company’s flagship crus.
The estate spans 10 hectares, mostly in La Morra, with an additional vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. The annual production of about 65,000 bottles includes the region’s traditional varieties, such as Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, and, of course, Barolo, with the Rocchettevino, Arborina, Gattera, and Parussi crus.
Today, the winery is in the hands of the fourth generation, with Alessandra Bovio, daughter of Gianfranco, along with her husband Marco and daughter Elisa, who continue to uphold the family tradition with passion and dedication, ensuring the continued high quality of their wines.
Conterno Fantino winery was founded in 1982 in Monforte d'Alba, Piemonte. The company was founded by Claudio Conterno and Guido Fantino. Today, we cultivate 27 hectares of vines and produce about 160,000 bottles per year, split into the 4 varietals of Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Chardonnay. Through the years, the two founders were joined by Alda, Fabio and Elisa Fantino , Noemi and Matteo Conterno in various roles. Environmental sustainability, preserving biodiversity, respect of the land and its heritage are the guiding principles in our vineyards, which are organically cultivated. Conterno Fantino winery styles its wines with the primary goal of reflecting their own identity: from painstaking manual selection of fruit to harvest by hand using small crates; from preserving the aromas of the vineyard with spontaneous fermentation from indigenous yeasts; from the careful use of wood for the ageing of the wines to the minimal use of sulfites, right up to the bottle ageing.
FOR ALMOST TWO CENTURIES, THE RIVETTI FAMILY HAS LIVED AND CULTIVATED VINEYARDS AROUND THE
TOWN OF NEIVE, THE PEARL OF BARBARESCO AND ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES IN ITALY.
In the early 1900s, the family was granted license number 16 to bottle wines in the province of Cuneo.
They are a family of farmers that succeeded thanks to their hard work and dedication to winemaking: from great-grandfather Giuseppe to his
grandson Dante, who started selecting the finest vineyards in the region and vinifying under the family name in the 1970s.
Today, the company is led by Dante's children: Ivan, Katia and Mara. They have chosen to practice sustainable viticulture, one that is close
to the land and respects the classic expression of Langhe vineyards.
aaaaVocation for BARBARESCO
THE RIVETTI FAMILY CULTIVATES 55 HECTARES OF LAND BETWEEN NEIVE, MANGO AND COSTIGLIOLE D’ASTI,
SITUATED BETWEEN LANGHE AND MONFERRATO..
All vineyards with Nebbiolo for Barbaresco, covering around 21 hectares, are located within the municipality of Neive and spread across some of the most prestigious Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (MGA) of the Barbaresco denomination: Bricco di Neive, Bric Micca and Rivetti, situated on the southern ridge of the Tinella stream. Established starting from the 2007 vintage, the Barbaresco MGAs identify the area’s most precious vineyards for their vocation and history:
these are parcels that yield highly distinctive wines.
On the other hand, the vineyards in Costigliole d’Asti are situated on the hills of the so-called «Langa Astigiana», in the southwestern part of Monferrato that borders with the Langhe, along the course of the Tanaro River.
aaaaThe icons of BARBARESCO
The icons of their production are Barbaresco Bricco di Neive, Bric Micca and Rivetti, known for their elegance
and freshness. The Riserva versions of Barbaresco Bricco di Neive have been carefully preserved since the 1980s,
forming a collection that testifies to the resilience of the Rivetti family, their roots that are deeply embedded in
Piedmont's winemaking history and the passion that has guided them through the generations.
DOMENICO CLERICO WINERY
Founded in 1976 in Monforte d’Alba by Domenico Clerico and his wife Giuliana, the winery began with just two hectares of family vineyards previously farmed by Domenico’s grandfather. Today the estate extends over 26 hectares, all within Monforte, including some of the appellation’s most iconic crus such as Ginestra, Mosconi and Bussia.
Domenico Clerico has long been recognized as one of the leading figures of the Barolo Boys, the pioneering group of producers who helped bring Barolo onto the world stage in the 1980s and 1990s. His forward-thinking approach, devotion to Monforte’s terroirand constant pursuit of quality shaped the estate’s identity.
The winery remains firmly rooted in tradition while embracing a contemporary vision. It produces six Barolo labels—five single-vineyard expressions that showcase the character of Monforte’s great crus and one classic communal Barolo. Its range also includes Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Dolcetto, crafted with precision and a deep respect for varietal purity..
In the late 1970s the Damonte Giuseppe winery became Malvirà, that in Piedmontese dialect means badly turned. The old house where our father Giuseppe moved the winery is known in our small town by this term, because its courtyard faces North instead of South as traditionally.
Malvirà in the 1970s could count only on a small vineyard surface of 2.5 ha, now the vineyards exceed 40 ha. Growth has been slow but steady over time, now 7 family members work in the winery, each with his or her own specific task.
The grape varieties grown are the typical of the area, Arneis, Barbera, Nebbiolo, Bonarda Piemontese and Brachetto Lungo. We also have a small amount of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
White grape varieties are about 50% of the total, the vineyards are mainly in the Roero area except for about 1.5 ha in La Morra, in the Barolo area.
Since 2014 all our vineyards have been cultivated organically and winemaking also follows that rule.
In 2003 we opened a small tourist facility, Villa Tiboldi, located in our largest vineyard, S.S. Trinità, to let gourmets visiting Langhe Monferrato and Roero experience the true spirit of our territory.
BAROLO PRODUCERS SINCE 1841
Tradition, dynamism and sustainability are the values of Rocche Costamagna: set in the heart of La Morra, the most important municipality in the Barolo designation in terms of wine production and number of winegrowers, this is one of the most historic wineries in the area.A tradition of dedication to vines and wine, a family history with six generations of winemakers who have aimed to raise the quality of their work and their labels over time, enhancing the exceptional terroir of La Morra and making the most of the fruits of the prestigious “Rocche dell'Annunziata” Barolo cru, cultivated by the same family for over two centuries.“Tradition, dynamism and sustainability simultaneously represent the values and development aims of Rocche Costamagna: our wines are the expression of a story of love for and dedication to the land of the Langa which spans six generations and more than two centuries” explains Alessandro Locatelli, who runs the winery today. The cellars, which date
back to the Napoleonic era, have been restored to their original splendor and now house elegant guest accommodation, where the Barolo experience meets traditional Langhe hospitality for tours, tastings and holidays filled with charm.
