Co-exhibitor of Les Vins de Bandol
Created in 1904, located at the foot of the medieval village Le Castellet, one of the most beautiful villages in France, La Vivonne has an area of 25 hectares, 13 ha in AOP Bandol and 12 ha in AOP Côtes de Provence. Our estate benefits from the exceptional climate of the South of France. Our production is focused on red in Bandol and rosé in Côtes-de-Provence. All our wines are kept: from 3 to 5 years for the rosés and from 7 to at least 15 years for the reds. Our grape varieties are: The Rolle or Vermentino for our Côtes de Provence Blanc cuvée. No white Bandol before 2 years, this one requiring an assembly and at least the 5th leaf, our vines of Clairettes are still a little young. Cinsault, Grenache and the King of AOP Bandol, Mourvèdre. The vines are 3 to 75 years old and the yield is 28 to 35 hectoliters per hectare, depending on the year. In 2011, Michel BENHAIM bought the Estate, undertook modernization works and renamed the Château in order to enhance the work and the constraints imposed by the Bandol appellation: Traditional cultivation is practiced there, the land is plowed and the vines are roadway with winter furrow in November. Bandol obliges, the vines are desuckered and effruited to leave only one bunch per vine shoot, then the harvest is harvested by hand. No use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers since 1987. We are independent winegrowers, HVE 3 certified since 2020, and in organic farming since 2021. We have one of the most beautiful Red Wine Shops in Bandol dating back to 1979. Our wines have won medals and been selected many times (“Competition of Independent Winegrowers”, “Guide Hachette des Vins”, “Gault et Millau”, Wine Enthusiast, etc.) have been published in the specialized professional press ( “La Revue du Vin de France”, “La Revue des Sommeliers”, and many others… We will be pleased to welcome you if your steps lead you to us….
