Porterhouse - Shiraz (Heathcote / Victoria)

2024 VINTAGE:

90 Points – Jeni Port / Halliday Companion Tasting Team (Jan 2026) -"The name says it all really. A Heathcote Shiraz built specifically for matching with porterhouse steak.  Winemaker, Hamish MacGowan, chose the right region, with Heathcote more than capable of delivering depth of flavour with good, solid structure.  The colour is deep and intense purple – very Heathcote – and alive in aromas of black plum, dark cherry, blackberry, earth, toasted spices.  Palate is juicy and supple with nicely honed tannins in place. A light layering of undergrowth adds that extra something.  Hard to argue that this isn’t a wine well suited to a match with protein."
