On Monday, January 26, 2026, our 2009 Leiwener Laurentiuslay Riesling Beerenauslese was awarded “Gereifter Riesling des Jahres 2026” (Mature Riesling of the Year 2026) by HENRIS (formerly Gault & Millau Germany), receiving 98 points.
This moment in time gives us great pleasure. For Riesling is patient by nature.
Since antiquity, along the Middle Mosel, vine roots have nestled into 400-million-year-old blue Devonian slate. Riesling has been grown here since 1465. With it, the Mosel became one of the world’s most style-defining white wine regions.
Our family has been recorded in the parish registers of the winegrowing village since 1548. In our vineyards surrounding Leiwen, we cultivate exclusively Riesling — in the Leiwener Laurentiuslay, the Köwericher Laurentiuslay, and the Klüsserather Bruderschaft.
Vinum, Falstaff, HENRIS, Der Feinschmecker, and others regularly recommend our wines.
Our uncomplicated Rieslings are called “Einblick N°1” (Insight No. 1) and “Für Feen und Elfen” (For Fairies and Elves).
“Für Träumer und Helden” (For Dreamers and Heroes), “Fräulein Mosel” (Miss Mosel), “Herr Mosel” (Mr. Mosel), “Mosel Süd-West” (Mosel South-West), the “Leiwener Laurentiuslay Große Lage” (Leiwener Laurentiuslay Grand Cru), as well as our Spätlesen (late-harvest wines), Auslesen (select harvest wines), and Beerenauslesen (berry-select sweet wines) are serious wines.
The best of them grow better year after year.
