“Being recognised for the first time was an immense source of pride. To be honoured once again, among such distinguished
names in the industry, is an even more powerful emotion. This trophy celebrates our terroir, our team, and the perseverance of those who still believe in the nobility of time and the truth of avour. And it was Jean, our eldest son, who received the trophy on the stage of the Battersea Arts Centre in London - an image rich in symbolism, as he represents the 12th generation to take the helm of the estate.”
Gilles de Boisséson, Owner
A historic double victory for Armagnac’s oldest family.
Three years after winning the prestigious Brandy Producer Trophy at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC), Château de Lacquy is once again commanding admiration, achieving a feat of remarkable distinction.
The oldest Armagnac house has secured for the second time the highest global accolade -the ultimate benchmark in the world of spirits.
A trophy that cannot simply be won: it must be earned.
The IWSC Brandy Producer Trophy stands as one of the most prestigious and hardest-won distinctions in the world of spirits. Based on blind tastings, rigorous validation of product medals, and the expertise of international judging panels renowned for their exacting standards, this award traditionally recognises the leading figures of the industry.
Unlike prizes granted for a single product, the Brandy Producer Trophy honours the overall and enduring excellence of a producer. It acknowledges the consistency, mastery, and unwavering quality of an entire range, validated year after year through multiple medals.
A rare distinction that celebrates the house’s complete body of work and its continued commitment to excellence.
About Château de Lacquy
Château de Lacquy is the oldest family-owned Armagnac estate still in operation, an unbroken heritage spanning three centuries of history.
Bought in 1711, the house has since been passed down from generation to generation, never breaking the continuity of its expertise. Twelve generations have followed the same philosophy: producing an Armagnac of exemplary purity and elegance, true to the terroir of the Landes and the slow passage of time that shapes great eaux-de-vie.
Set in the heart of a protected 400-hectare environment, the estate deliberately devotes only 22 hectares to vineyards. This conscious choice of rarity and precision allows for meticulous control over every detail, from vine cultivation to bottling, ensuring a limited production of around 30,000 bottles per year, placing the house among the most exclusive producers in the world.
They are then aged in a historic 19th-century cellar, set on a clay floor where around 550 casks rest. The Armagnacs develop slowly, gaining in depth, structure, and harmony. A production carried out with care and passion, absolute delity to traditional methods, and meticulous attention to quality gives Château de Lacquy’s Armagnacs a style all their own: haute couture eaux-de-vie, precise, both distinguished and elegant, imbued with a rare sincerity.
Under the guidance of the new generation, led by Jean de Boisséson, the estate continues to combine respect for tradition with a forward-looking vision.
Faithful to a prestigious heritage yet fully open to modernity, Lacquy asserts more than ever its place among the world’s benchmark producers of exceptional spirits.
This artisanal excellence, combined with deliberately limited production, positions Lacquy firmly within the global sphere of exclusive spirits.
