The 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards — the world’s largest and most influential wine competition, awarder our Château Cavalier, cuvée Marafiance 2024, Côtes de Provence, ‘Best in Show’.

With an impressive 97-point score, this wine ranks among Decanter’s Top 50 wines of the year, selected from over 18,000 entries spanning every country and style (1050 rosés wines tasted), the only rosé wine this selection, from 57 countries, tasted by an international panel of experts including 22 Master Sommeliers and 72 Masters of Wine.

What the Decanter judges said :

‘It’s pale, of course, with just a hint of salmon, and aromatically suggests quiet strawberry and redcurrant. On the palate it’s fresh, lively and lifted, acid-supported in this instance – but not so much as to call into question the gentle, moreish charm of its origins.’

More about the wine

Château Cavalier Marafiance 2024 is a blend of 30% Grenache, 25% Rolle, 20% Syrah, 16% Cinsault, 5% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 4% Sémillon from a large single vineyard from a single vineyard, owned by the Castel family, ideally situated between the Massif des Maures and the foothills of the Haut Var Alps.

Committed and sustainable viticulture

Certified Terra Vitis (sustainable viticulture) and HVE (High Environmental Value)

Regular soil management and use of organic fertilizers

Viti-pastoralism: 800 sheep graze the vineyard outside the growing season

Careful green work (disbudding, leaf thinning, etc.)

Meticulous winemaking

High-quality night-time mechanical harvesting to prevent oxidation

Skin maceration of Grenache (4–8 hours)

Cold settling on Syrah and Grenache lees for 15 days

Aged in stainless steel on fine lees for 2–3 months

Ride the Provence Light

To light up all your moments of sharing and celebration, Château Cavalier offers a collection of four rosés and a new exceptional white wine, all born from its beautiful single-estate vineyard and united by a lively yet elegant character.
