Roncade (Treviso), Italy – In keeping with the heritage of the Venetian nobles, Castello di Roncade continues to craft premium quality wines, carrying forward a winemaking tradition that dates back to 1508.
At the heart of Roncade, a charming town in the Venetian inland near Treviso, rises a majestic Renaissance castle, once owned by the noble Giustinian family, whose illustrious members included Doge Stefano and Marco Antonio Giustinian. Deeply intertwined with the history of the Serenissima Republic, Castello di Roncade stands today as a unique pre-Palladian villa, surrounded by medieval walls that safeguard over five hundred years of viticultural excellence.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the estate was acquired by the Ciani Bassetti family, rooted in the agricultural nobility of the Trento region. The family undertook an extensive restoration of the castle and a complete replanting of the vineyards, transforming the estate into one of the most fascinating wine-growing properties in the Treviso area.
In the early 1900s, Baron Tito Ciani Bassetti chose Castello di Roncade as his family residence and as the place where he could fulfil his dream of producing wine in a territory historically renowned for viticulture since Roman times. This passion for wine, combined with a deep respect for history and land, has been passed down from generation to generation.
Today, under the leadership of Baron Claudio Ciani Bassetti, Castello di Roncade continues to enhance both the historic residence and its winemaking operations, combining tradition with innovation to craft wines of outstanding quality.

Winemaking Excellence
