BODEGAS CARE NAMED BEST ARAGONESE WINERY 2025
The Aragon Academy of Gastronomy has distinguished Bodegas Care as the best winery of the year in Aragón for looking to the future without forgetting its roots.
The Aragone Academy of Gastronomy honored Bodegas Care with its annual award during the celebration of the institution’s 30th anniversary. The recognition highlights the work of a winery that has managed to write its own story: private, family-run, and small in size, yet with an international presence that grows year after year, especially in Asian markets.
Nacho Lázaro, co-owner of Bodegas Care, received the award at a ceremony that also recognized the work of the Government of Aragón with the Medal of Honor, and distinguished other leading figures in the sector such as the Fernando Alcober e Hijos olive mill, Carlos bar in Valderrama, Ambar, photographer Cristina Martínez, and Canfranc Express.
A different way of understanding wine
What makes this award special is not only the institutional recognition from the Aragonese Academy of Gastronomy, but what it represents: the validation of a forward-looking approach to winemaking. Bodegas Care has built its identity by focusing on an emerging, younger audience, integrating contemporary art and culture into every one of its proposals, from its labels to its events.
In a sector traditionally anchored in classical codes, this winery from Cariñena has shown that craftsmanship and disruption are not opposing concepts. Its growing presence in Asia—one of the most demanding and sophisticated markets in the world—is proof that its approach works: wines with Aragonese character that speak a universal and contemporary language.
The award from the Aragon Academy of Gastronomy recognizes a winery that honors the winemaking tradition of the Cariñena PDO while building bridges to new generations of consumers. Small in structure, great in ambition and global reach.
