At Wine Paris 2026, François Lurton will present his wines and spirits within a stand unlike any he has showcased before: a fully circular structure made entirely from an innovative organic material created by MUSH Myco Design using vine shoots. This bold collaboration brings together two aligned visions of sustainability and signals a new way of thinking about materials, innovation, and environmental responsibility in the world of wine.
Materials play a fundamental role in climate change, and MUSH Myco Design, a company specializing in organic material design and engineering, has successfully developed a highly innovative material as an alternative to plastic and wood, based entirely on circular- economy principles.
Recognized as the Best Startup at AID Investor’s Day 2025 and listed in the Top101 Spain Up Nation, the company focuses on repurposing vine-pruning residues, transforming them through fungal biotechnology into high-value products.
Their product range includes furniture, lighting, exhibition structures, acoustic absorption panels, and packaging solutions.
After years of research using vine shoots, they patented a fully organic material free from harmful chemicals or toxic substances, with a fast production cycle and remarkable technical properties. It is lightweight yet resistant, naturally fire-retardant, water- repellent, and requires low energy consumption during manufacturing.
By reusing abundant organic waste that still ends up in landfills or is burned, generating significant emissions such as greenhouse gases and black carbon, and by implementing a circular production system in which all products return to the soil as compost at the end of their lifecycle, MUSH has become a model company for sustainable development.
The interdisciplinary background of its founders, Cristina Anoro, an entrepreneur dedicated to sustainable design and project development, and Leandro Meléndez, a biologist and mycology expert, has been key to bringing this innovation to life.
This vision resonates deeply with François Lurton’s own philosophy. In recent years, every innovation has been driven by a return to tradition and a deep commitment to organic farming and respectful winemaking, using materials that honor the identity of each vineyard and reflect a low-impact, nature-rooted approach.
The connection between François Lurton’s ethos and MUSH’s pioneering biotechnology emerged naturally: both seek to rethink our relationship with materials, reduce environmental impact, and place circularity at the centre of creation.
This breakthrough will be presented for the first time at Wine Paris 2026, a landmark exhibition in the world of wine, with the support of visionary entrepreneur François Lurton.
Creating a fully integrated stand made entirely from the vine shoots that gave life to the grapes used in the wine showcased here has been a significant and inspiring challenge for both teams, François Lurton and MUSH, and stands as a tangible example of how circular thinking can address major global issues.
