Co-exhibitor of Wines of Germany
The organic family winery Bäder was founded in 2009 by Katja and Jens Bäder.
Today, there are planted 15 hectares of vineyards in Rheinhessen, Germany. There are several different soil types, such as loess and sand mostly for the Pinot varieties but also volcanic stone soil as Porphyr who is predestined for mineral Riesling. The Estate Wines are fresh, fruity and crispy and the Single Vinyard Wines are concentrated, elegant and mineralic:
Riesling La Roche grows on red Sand stone – a very special spot with an intense micro climate. Rotenfels Pinot Noir and our Kalkfels Riesling are planted on limestone.
Modern wine making is for us the reduction of technical influences and discovering the traditional old style of winemaking. The idea is, after precise hand work in the field for healthy, ripe grapes, to ferment the must with natural yeast to get the influence of our vineyards in our wines.
Katja and Jens are members of Bioland, an association of organic winegrowers and agriculturists.
