From land to sea, our Mediterranean Protected Geographical Indication radiates over a large sunny territory from our capital Marseille.
It is above all a story of the men and women we talk about when it comes to wine. Warm, sincere, talented, exuberant… Whether they are independent winegrowers, cooperative winegrowers or merchants, those who produce and market the wines of this Protected Geographical Indication are unique. They have the Mediterranean in their blood, generosity in their hearts and what it takes of character and audacity to make so many wines that will surprise you!
Gourmet, sunny, generous wines that reflect these lands that cannot leave anyone indifferent: vines as far as the eye can see alongside olive trees, which stretch from the Gorges de l’Ardèche to the ponds of the Camargue, Mont Ventoux to the Massif des Alpilles through the garrigues of the Drôme… Here is expressed all the creativity, the talent of the winegrowers and all the Mediterranean spirit.
Our wines are mostly blended wines, creators in short. We find assembled in the rosés and the reds the grape varieties that are Grenache, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Marselan, Caladoc…. In white, we can mention Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier, Chardonnay or Rolle.

An exceptional terroir in the heart of the Calanques National Park. Clos Sainte Magdeleine is a spectacular estate of 20 hectares, 15 of which are in production.
Owned by the Zafiropulo family since 1921, it is now in the hands of the younger generation, represented by Jonathan and Aurélie.
The Cassis appellation is the oldest AOC in Provence, recognised since 1936. However, uniquely in the Mediterranean, we produce 80% white wines.
The Clos Sainte Magdeleine vineyard, all 'restanques', clings to the side of the Cap Canaille on an impressive slope in a cirque overlooking the Mediterranean. Then there's the vineyard's emblematic plot, situated at the foot of the cliff, like a lookout point over the sea. All our vines are planted on clay-limestone soils, a true catalyst for minerality. Our deep-rooted vines give our wines an incomparable aptitude for ageing. The diversity of the varieties planted (Marsanne, Clairette, Ugni, Bourboulenc, Rolle, Grenache, Cinsault) enriches the identity of the estate's wines, giving them a unique depth and complexity. The microclimate of Clos Sainte Magdeleine, combined with the sea breezes, provides the ideal conditions for the perfect ripening of our grapes, preserving their incomparable freshness and minerality.
The deep identity of our wines can be summed up in a few words: minerality and salinity.
The vast underground cellars date back to the 19th century. Most of the vats are made of stainless steel, but there are also ovoid concrete vats, sandstone jars and half-muid barrels. Traditional vinification and long ageing guarantee the greatest respect for our terroirs.
Our philosophy is clear: to make Clos Sainte Magdeleine the reference for white wines in the South of France, a symbol of excellence and authenticity.
For several years now, we have also been selecting the finest terroirs of Provence Maritime, not far from our Cassis vineyard, to create a new range of iconic wines.
These wines are created and designed with the ambition to capture the moment, between minerality and conviviality. The wines in the SAINTE-MAGDELEINE range feature emblematic southern grape varieties and the terroir of Provence.

A Family Story
Arles, Camargue , 1927 : after truly pioneering work, Pierre Chassaing set up the winery and introduced a sheep herd.
Today, the 230-hectare vineyard surrounds Isle Saint-Pierre’s winery. This island in the Rhône, located 15km away from the mouth of the river, is the southernmost vineyard in the Rhône valley. Swept by the Mistral wind, it enjoys temperate heat due to its proximity to the sea and its position in the river.
Patrick Henry, Marie-Cécile and their children, the third and fourth generations of winegrowers, have restructured and modernised the vineyard in keeping with tradition while making the most of the latest technical advances. Everything has come together to produce subtly balanced red, white and rosé wines for your fullest satisfaction.
Having learned to live with Isle Saint-Pierre’s rich nature and abundant biodiversity, the Henry family and winery staff are perpetuating the expertise and values of the family estate.
MAISON SAFRANIER is the result of a collaboration between two people who are passionate about fine wine.
Isabelle Thomas, graduated from the prestigious Faculty of Oenology of Bordeaux, founded Ter-Vinum after a rich and solid career in oenological consulting and Claude Hilt who has created the Villa Safranier estate in Rasteau in 2010. He produces wines that are faithful to their terroir. Precision and rigor are his watchwords, from the vineyard to the cellar.
Two friends, lovers of good wine who wanted to create a brand new concept, both elegant, clean and pure, to make you appreciate all the beauty of the Mediterranean in a sip.
MAISON SAFRANIER proposes two ranges of low degree IGP Méditerranée wines:
10°5 by La Folie Safranier: an unique light rosé in its iconic perfume bottle. Produced in limited quantities, 10°5 is an exclusive and exceptional wine, made from grapes picked in the first days of the harvest, in the heart of Provence.
Little Safranier: a range of rosé, white and red, low degree, easy to drink. These wines are above all small gourmet and tasty pleasures that can be enjoyed as an aperitif with friends, during a family meal or on vacation by the pool. Light and festive, they will accompany you day after day for every occasion, on the way to your vacation, at home or in your favorite wine bar.
