“The Vallée Noble is my country and the Grand Cru Zinnkoepflé my little homeland”. About twenty kilometers south of Colmar, the vineyards of Jean-Marie Haag estate descend from the steep hillsides in this narrow valley called Vallée Noble, closed like a circus. The special dry climate that reigns there offers the vines a potential for over-maturity and makes it possible to produce concentrated, finesse vintages with incredible length. As soon as you arrive in Soultzmatt, the Zinnkoepfle classified Grand Cru offers you an impressive spectacle. This south, south-east facing terroir, made up of limestone (Muschelkalk) and Avoltzia sandstone (Bundsandstein) is one of the highest Alsatian Grand Cru. The estate is certified Terra Vitis, sustainable viticulture and HEV (high environmental value). To preserve the quality and expression of the grapes, the harvest located mainly on the hillsides is picked exclusively by hand. This is why after a period of several months in the cellar, the wines offer complex aromas, length and great finesse. All gastronomic alliances are possible. Cheers !
