Wines of South Africa (WoSA) is a fully inclusive body, representing all South African producers of wine who export their products. WOSA, which was established in its current form in 1999, has over 500 producers on its database, comprising all the major South African wine exporters.
Bruce Jack Wines is a different sort of global wine business. While we are SA-focused, we actually make wine on four different continents (Spain, California and Chile). We are a winemaker-driven, family business and we believe the concept of “value” is as important when enjoying an everyday wine as it is when tasting something rare and very expensive. We are obsessed with doing the right thing for our vineyards, our wines and our customers. We celebrate authenticity and provenance, not just in the wine we craft, but in everything. We are different in the way that we grow our grapes, communicate about our wine, relate to our customers and distribute around the world. We take our winecraft very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves very seriously. We believe in having fun, but we also believe in standing up for the underdog and doing the right thing. We believe the best wine always portrays the hallmarks of authenticity and honesty. We believe wine should add joy to life. We are a small, dynamic team. Ultimately, we believe wine is an historic, sophisticated, intriguing and joyful staple in an otherwise confusing and chaotic world.
Cape Fynbos Wines & Spirits is a youthful winery in more ways than one. Founded in 2017 by friends Johan du Toit and Oliver Kirsten their expressed goal has always been to showcase to an international wine consuming audience the creative energy present in the modern South African wine and beverage industry, both in terms of design style and winemaking innovation.
Their love for the unique landscape and flora of the Western Cape of South Africa has been their constant source of energy and innovation. The result of this inspiration is a range of wines and gins that are both award-winning and consumer-focused – a sustainable celebration of this beautiful country.
Working exclusively with the finest growers in the Voor-Paardeberg and Swartland appellations - formerly rural backwaters that have been revolutionised into two of the most talked-about applications in the Southern hemisphere – they now produce a wide range of still wines, as well as an award-winning pair of super-premium craft gins.
Cordier South Africa has been exporting wines from South Africa to international wine markets since 1997.
We are a producer of both bottled and bulk wines sourcing wines from various regions in South Africa.
We are a small, dynamic and flexible team based in Stellenbosch, the heart of the wine industry,
The history of De Grendel is interwoven with the story of South Africa over three centuries. Once a remote outpost of Cape Town, De Grendel today is the entry point to the Durbanville wine route. Four generations of the Graaff family, custodians of the estate since 1891, have built up a sustainable, diversified farming enterprise, dedicated to conservation of the environment and heritage of one of the Cape’s oldest farms.
Commanding panoramic views over fynbos-rich slopes across Table Bay to Table Mountain, our cellar carefully balances art and science, age-old traditions, and modern technology, for uncompromising quality. Sharing the magnificent views, our highly rated Restaurant presents contemporary Cape cuisine designed to complement our wines.
De Grendel has pioneered winegrowing in some of South Africa’s youngest, most extreme and most exciting appellations, seeking out unique areas for the distinctive characteristics they bring to specific cultivars.
Meticulous care of the growing environment together with minimal intervention in the cellar allows the grapes to express their growing environment and distinct varietal character, producing our De Grendel signature of elegant freshness, purity, and depth.
De Grendel wines have achieved gold and double gold, and scores of 95 and more, in local and international competitions and wine ratings.
In 2003, at the age of 78 years old, May de Lencquesaing, former owner of Bordeaux’s iconic Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, ventured into a new chapter by acquiring Glenelly Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. With a nod to the French Huguenot settlers, she planted vines after a cautious study of the terroir and built a thriving winery. Her vision is to establish Glenelly as a world-class estate, producing award-winning wines with power, elegance and balance.
Nestled in a striking amphitheatre of mountains, the 123 hectares estate is planted on hilly slopes which
benefits from unique diversity of microclimates. Most of the blocks are Southeast facing allowing for a
slow and even ripening resulting in wines of great elegance and finesse. The vines benefit from a
constant cool breeze from a combination of the surrounding mountains and near ocean. The soil is one
of the oldest in the world and originates from 600 million years old decomposed granite with a deep
clay base.
On the foothills of the Simonsberg mountain’s, the soil consists of decomposed granite; poor with good
drainage, which allow the wine deep roots. Glenelly covers 57 hectares under vine. The rest of our land
is devoted to olive trees, fynbos, our biodiversity, and our other indigenous plants found only in the
Cape.
We endeavour to make our wines with minimal intervention. Our Cellar Master, Dirk Van Zyl and
assistant winemaker Léhandri Bothma, harvest at the optimum time and employs careful sorting and
natural fermentation methods. Our 6,000 m2 winery was constructed across 4 levels and operates by
gravity flow. Solar panels, recycled water and insulation against climate extremes contribute further to
lessening our environmental impact. We aim to recycle all waste that is generated.
Today Glenelly Estate produces a range of 9 wines, split over three categories:
The Glass Collection range:
Single premium varietal wines, named after May-Eliane de Lencquesaing’s lifelong passion for the art
of glassmaking. 5 wines make up this range: unoaked Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot,
and Cabernet Franc.
We also produce a Rose, called “Le Rose de May”, 100% from Syrah, whole bunch pressed to achieve
a lighter colour. It is a sulphur free wine and instead we use honey bush tannins as natural preservative
and antioxidant.
The Estate Reserves:
The signature wine of our Estate, 2 wines make up this range: the red using the highest quality grapes
(blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and Petit Verdot), and the white, is a beautifully complex
oaked Chardonnay.
The Lady May:
The flagship wine of the estate, sourced from a single block of Cabernet Sauvignon, to which is blended
small proportions of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
At the heart of the Cape Winelands, where history and terroir meet, lies Kleine Zalze – a Stellenbosch winery rooted in legacy since 1695. A bold new chapter began in 1996, bringing fresh vision and a focus on excellence. Our vineyards are the soul of what we do – site-specific, thoughtfully farmed, and the starting point of every decision. The result is wines that are refined, honest, and true to their origin.
In 2022, we entered a new era under the ownership of AdVini, one of France’s most respected wine groups, adding global expertise while preserving our identity. We continue to produce wines of trusted quality and international acclaim – wines that tell a story of place, inspire confidence, and stand the test of time.
Born in Soweto and raised in the rural Eastern Cape, Koni has never forgotten how her roots have shaped her as a leader. Her values and leadership skills were instilled by her grandparents who were community leaders in the village where she spent her formative years. “I am shaped by principles of hard work, courage, honesty, respect, and inclusivity,” says Koni. During her successful career as an HR executive in the insurance sector, Koni discovered and fell in love with wine. “I was exposed to wine at a very late stage in my life but very quickly became fascinated with the art of winemaking, but I was also curious about transformation in the sector,” she reflects. In 2015, Koni started her wine brand, Koni Wines, one of only around 80 entirely black-owned wine brands in South Africa. In 2019 Koni graduated from UCT GSB’s Wine Business Programme and has since garnered a loyal fan club for her wines and transformed Koni Wines into a niche global brand. Their philosophy is to get everyday wine drinkers to experience grape varieties that are quintessentially South African with an authentic story and style. Koni is one of the founding members of the Wine Arc in Stellenbosch, a cross-sectoral partnership between government, industry and black-owned wine brands. In 2024 Koni was named Business Woman of the Year by the South African Chamber of Commerce in the UK.
