Anheuser family history:
The Paul Anheuser wine estate is established since 1627 in Bad Kreuznach.
In 1842, two brothers of the 10th family generation emigrated to Amercia. One of the brothers, Eberhard Anheuser, founded a brewery in St. Louis, Missouri, wich later became Anheuser-Busch, the largest brewery in the world today.
Eberhard’s nephew, Rudolf Anheuser, expanded his possessions beyond the town limits of Bad Kreuznach. He added choice vineyards with exceptional soil quality and ideal micro-climate in the Nahe Valleytowns of Schlossboeckelheim and Niederhausen.
Marketing of bottled wine started with great success.
Rudolf’s youngest son, Paul Anheuser, took over the estate and further improved the quality of the dry wines. His vision of the future and knowledge of his customer’s preferences proved the wisdom of his decision.
In 2005 the 14th generation Rudolf III and Paul Christian Anheuser took over the reins of the family business and will continue the long-standing family tradition.
Working Hand in Hand with nature, both brothers cultivate traditional grapes Varieties in top sites of the Nahe region, particulary Riesling and Pinot family. Typical for the region, the estate mainly prouce fruity and refreshing Riesling wines.
Their philosophy towards quality focuses on reduction on yield, strict selection and cold fermentation
