The recognition of the Touraine Chenonceaux Appellation was achieved after several years of rigorous work, selecting the best terroirs and best wines from the area. The passion and efforts of motivated winemakers to develop a product that they knew would be unique are now rewarded. 2011 marks the first harvest of the AOC Touraine Chenonceaux.
The white wines of Touraine Chenonceaux, only made from Sauvignon Blanc, are of great aromatic intensity. With a minimum of 6 months ageing on lees, they reveal aromas of ripe fruits (pear, apricot…) and citrus, as well as exotic fruits (pineapple, mango…). With rich, full-bodied, and powerful mouth, their richness and complexity make them some of the greatest white wines of the Loire Valley. It will surprise you after a few years of ageing.
The red wines of Touraine Chenonceaux are a blend of Côt (also called Malbec) and Cabernet Franc. They reveal subtle aromas of ripe black fruits (cherry…) and stewed fruits. In the mouth, thanks to a minimum of one year of ageing, the supple and silky-smooth tannins provide these wines with elegance and long ageing, worthy of the Loire Valley greatest red wines.
