Co-exhibitor of Consorzio Vino Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco
Sommariva winery was born in the late 70’s, when Caterino Sommariva and his wife Urbana, both from families of winemakers, bought a small piece of land on the top of the hill of San Pietro di Feletto, in the heart of the production area of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
Caterino already then understood how the Glera grape was best expressed in hilly territory and today the company owns 50 hectares of vineyards of which 40 in the “felettano” area, 25 of these around the winery, which is located right on the Hills declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2019.
The company is now run by the daughter Cinzia who began working in the winery in 1998, but part time, as she was also engaged in the business of accountant. It was in that year that a structure was built for the transformation of grapes into wine, equipped with the highest technology.
In 2003 Cinzia decided to dedicate herself completely to her great passion and to start sparkling and bottling her own wine. Thus, thanks to the collaboration of a wine maker of great experience, Renato De Noni, a new brand was created, the brand SOMMARIVA, identifying a product carefully cared for since its birth in the vineyard.
