Basque Wine is the promotional brand representing the wide variety of beverages from Euskadi. The land from which the raw materials of each drink originate is the link between tradition and the unique character of every wine produced in Euskadi. These are distinctive cultures, customs, and histories that come together in the same roots: the land and its people. This initiative will feature: Rioja Alavesa wine and Txakoli from Araba and Gipuzkoa.

Bodegas Fernández de Piérola, part of the family-owned Grupo Piérola, was founded in 1996 in Moreda de Álava, at the heart of Rioja Alavesa, building on a family tradition of vineyard work that began in 1905. The group, led by Carlos Bujanda, 4th generation of the family, includes four wineries: two in Rioja, one in Ribera del Duero, and one in Rueda. Fernández de Piérola works with 180 hectares of vineyards on poor clay-calcareous soils, producing wines defined by purity, balance, and authenticity.
Our goal is to build long-term partnerships through a hands-on approach, helping to launch and grow our brands together in each market. We believe in investing alongside our partners for sustainable success—through marketing, promotion, and direct support—and we welcome clients to Spain to live the Grupo Piérola experience firsthand.
Gaintza is a winery with a long tradition where we have been producing quality txakolí wine for 4 generations. The vineyards and the winery are run by our small, family-run team. The planting of new vines, the care of the vines, their harvest and subsequent vinification, as well as their marketing is carried out by us, the family.
Gaintza has grown generation after generation until achieving a consistent production of three wines: the traditional chacolí Gaintza, the rosé Gaintza Roses and Gaintza Aitako made with grapes from a century-old vineyard.
Our own production, from vineyards planted next to the Cantabrian Sea. A sustainable winery with the integrated viticulture certificate.
Gaintza is located in Getaria, a town famous for its wines, its restaurants, and for historical figures such as Elkano and the designer Balenciaga. It is a perfect place as a base camp to discover the Basque coast and the cities of San Sebastian and Bilbao.
HIKA BODEGA is the outcome of the union of two ways of understanding the txakoli wine, the indigenous varieties and the Basque terroir.
As winegrowers, we have in mind the criteria for rediscovering the txakoli wine produced in our region, known as Getariako Txakolina, and believe in its potential to produce atlantic txakoli wines, going beyond the ancestral notions of txakoli wine.
Our project is based on:
- Absolute care of vineyard and grapes, which are native varieties as Hondarribi Zuri, Hondarribi Zerratia and Hondarribi Beltza.
- Total respect and attention of soil and climate as differentiating factors of the range of the txakoli wines.
- Dedication to the cultivation works in the vineyard using techniques that respect and protect the environment.
- Professionalism and vocation in the winemaking avoiding manipulations or masking.
- Perfect maturation and decision of the ideal moment for harvesting.
For Hika Bodega is a must to elaborate our txakoli wines in a Green Philosophy Viticulture praxis. The pruning works, green pruning and vintage are crafted.
Minimal intervention viticulture, with organic fertilizers and avoiding herbicides to improve soil health, biodiversity and climate.
We work on a minimum intervention production because we consider it as the best way to express the terroir and the minerality of the txakoli wines, and to be environmentally friendly.
We try to lengthen the growth cycle of vineyard as much as possible to achieve ideal ripening prior to the harvest getting a better maturation and an excellence balance among freshness, acidity and maturity.
Our priority is to obtain and select the best grapes from our vineyards, and because of this we work with moderate production.
The highest productions doesn’t overstep from 6.000 to 7.000 kg / ha.
Protecting and enhancing biodiversity Hika Bodega grows greener.

We are Luis and Eva, fifth-generation winemakers, deeply rooted in our land: the mountains that protect us from the north, the hillsides where the vines grow, and the centuries-old olive trees that have always been with us. We grew up among the vines and knew from a very young age that this was our haven.
Born from a family winemaking tradition, Maisulan, our own project, was established in Elvillar in 2001. A small family winery where each bottle reflects our origins, our hard work, and the passion we share for our terroir.
We work with the utmost respect for the land, and our vines are certified organic.
The Sáenz de Samaniego family has been dedicated to viticulture in Rioja Alavesa for generations, with roots dating back to the 16th century. In the 1970s, Doroteo and María Asunción founded Bodega Ostatu, driven by a vision to craft and market their own wines through hard work and deep respect for the land.
Ostatu’s philosophy is grounded in sustainability, authenticity, and a balance between tradition and innovation. Each wine reflects the character of the landscape, the unique microclimate, and the soils of Rioja Alavesa. Ostatu is more than a winery—it’s a way of understanding wine and life, with a strong ecological commitment and a continuous pursuit of quality.
