The company Azienda Agricola Roberto Ceraudo is located in Calabria, in the territory of Strongoli Marina. This area is naturally suited for growing grapes thanks to the natural predisposition of the terrain, and the short distance from the sea, 60 m a.s.l. The farm is immersed in a Mediterranean garden, surrounded by century-old olive groves and scented citrus groves. This location ensures an optimal temperature range between day and night. In 1992, Roberto Ceraudo started to produce organically on his farm achieving, after the initial difficulties, excellent results especially regarding product quality. This resulted in the farm being considered at a regional level a ”Leading business” certified by ICEA for the Calabria region.
The farm is spread over an area of 60 hectares of which: 20 hectares of vineyards having a potential production of 50 tons of wine, 38 hectares of olive groves with 7,400 trees and a production potential of over 40 tons of oil.Vineyards and olive groves embrace a central unit comprised of the baronial group of houses dating back to the 1600, the cellar, the oil mill and the farm stay facilities, flanked by a quaint small church. The farm stay facilities originate from the renovation of these buildings, duly converted in large and comfortable apartments.
The most recent jewel added to casa Ceraudo is the Dattilo restaurant, a unique architecture in a refined and elegant setting with interestin wooden arches and century-old exposed stone walls. In November 2011 the restaurant was awarded the prestigious Michelin star.Vineyards and olive groves embrace a central unit comprised of the baronial group of houses dating back to the 1600, the cellar, the oil mill and the farm stay facilities, flanked by a quaint small church. For more than 35 years we have not used chemical products on the land, on our plants or during processing. Perhaps not everyone knows that such a virtuous approach brings many problems at the outset. First and foremost there is an immediate reduction in production that lasts for a number of years. Chemical farming produces ten times as much, but eventually destroys the land so that it is virtually unusable.
We are proud to have chosen the opposite approach. We are proud that we cultivate our land as if it belongs to all. The land is the most precious resource owned by mankind, an asset to be preserved with the greatest care at any cost. We are proud to be a company that is concerned with growing profits not through quantity but through the increasing appreciation of that market sector for which quality is the driving factor.
From pioneers we have become a "ground breaking company" on a regional level. Rather than treating with chemicals, we undertake complex work aimed at preventing parasite attacks, using Stevenson screens and pheromone traps based on sexual attraction. The result is that the plants develop antibodies and become stronger every year. All the production phases are internally managed, creating a micro-system that is similar to that used in the farms of years gone by. Grafting in the field, grassing...our techniques are ancient, but this does not mean that we don't welcome real innovations: the cellar, press, agritourism and the restaurant are completely powered by photovoltaic panels that make them energy self-sufficient.
Since ancient Greeks’ time, there was a flourishing and rich land called Enotria Tellus i.e. "Land of Wine". Today that land is named Calabria. Calabria is a land rich in art, nature, culture, traditions, food and wine ... It is also rich in villages, such as that of Marzi and Rogliano where we are based. Distinguished by the presence of 800 km of coastline, washed by the Tyrrhenian Sea to the west and the Ionian Sea to the east, it has a predominantly hilly surface with impressive mountain ranges. Precisely the presence of the sea and mountains not far from each other distinguishes it by giving it a mix of winds that allows our vines in a unique microclimate. Despite the passing of the centuries, Calabria continues to produce wines that have unmistakable characteristics that delight our palate thanks to the particular climatic conditions such as sunshine, heat and fertile humidity of the air and soil. Once upon a time there was a local doctor, Vittorio Colacino, who apart from taking care of his patients, also enjoyed growing an ancient vineyard. This Vineyard produced a wine known as “BRITTO”. From such a passion for earth and life, the Colacino Company was founded. The company is nowadays managed by Dr Colacino’s children: Mauro and Maria Teresa; beyond sharing the same passion for wine inherited from their father, they also introduced a touch of innovation and managerial skills to the entire production line, firmly determined to constantly improve an already highly appreciated product respecting its history.
Established in 1845, the Ippolito firm is the oldest winery in Calabria. The historical winery, nowadays a pattern of an enologic van, is located in the centre of Cirò Marina. The vineyards, extended for more than 100 hectares and cultivated mainly with autochthonous grapes as Gaglioppo, Calabrese, Greco Nero, Greco Bianco and Pecorello, are all placed in the heart of Cirò classic area. Vine-dressers for five generations, we proudly avail ourselves of the patrimony made during over 170 years of work and success, making fine wines with marked personality, well-defined identity and correct prices, with the same enthusiasm and devotion inherited from our parents. Through the direct control of the entire production process, constant technological modernization, high respect for the environment, updated know how and significant investment in the valuation of our autochthonous grapes, we Ippolito aim for unsurpassed quality. The search for the “immortality” of our wines lies in that indissoluble bond among the story, the vine, the land and human action.
Fiore all’occhiello

History and innovation go hand in hand for Cantine Statti, a historic company from Lamezia Terme that has its roots in the area since the century XV.
Over the centuries, the noble family has held prestigious roles in the society, having an important influence on the economy of the city.
Since 1800, the family of Statti Baron started the agriculture business in their flourishing land located in the heart of Lamezia DOC. The wine of Lamezia has always been famous and its history is linked to the names of the grapes imported here by the Phoenician and the Greek: Gaglioppo, Magliocco, Mantonico, Greco Bianco and Greco Nero, grapes of irreplaceable heritage of sensations, perfumes and tastes of this land.
Since the 90s the brothers Alberto and Antonio Statti are running the ancient winery tradition that develops on 500 hectares: they cultivate more than 500 hectares of land and produces excellent wine and high quality extra vergin olive oil, citrus fruits and milk (with more than 300 cattles).
The activity therefore ranges from olive growing to viticulture, from citrus growing to animal husbandry and thanks to biogas, also to agro-energy. The particular attention to the environment through the use of cutting-edge renewable energy, unique in our region, makes all Statti green and eco-friendly products.
From cultivation to the cellar all production processes exclude the use of any substance of animal origin. The high quality is always the same, but the intention and attention in its certification are different: a healthy wine, coming from healthy vines and in balance with the ecosystem and biodiversity that surrounds them.
Particularity: Statti cellars is among the few Italian companies, and not only, to have the trigeneration plant: that is, the co-generators that take the hot air of biogas transform it into cold water to be sent to the cellar in the steel vats to cool temperature controlled wine
This is the will and the philosophy of Statti company: respect of the roots and witness of the future in self-proposing. Prestigious wines, sincere interpreters of the most precious and incomparable grapes always distinguished by a soul really bound to this incomparable land.
Tenuta del Castello is set in a unique landscape and cultural environment: it overlooks the hills between the Ionian Sea and Mediterranean natural scenery, with a historic 17th-century castle that symbolizes the area and stands as a testament to the local agricultural tradition. This connection between wine, landscape, and history is not merely aesthetic, but an integral part of the company’s identity.
The estate cultivates around 12 hectares of vineyards with native grape varieties such as Aglianico and Greco Bianco, once again expressing themselves in their land of origin (Calabria and the historic area of Magna Graecia). The wines are crafted to achieve a balance of sugars, aromas, and acidity, reflecting the distinctive characteristics of the territory.
Production is supported by the expertise of winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, a renowned figure in the Italian wine world (President of the Association of Italian Oenologists), who helps give personality and quality to the labels.
The winery is equipped with modern technologies for vinification and bottling, while maintaining a foundation of artisanal tradition. This combination helps produce elegant, well-structured wines capable of competing beyond regional borders.
The estate is not only about wine production: it offers winery tours and tastings designed to engage visitors in a complete sensory experience connected to local culture, flavors, and hospitality.
In a region less well known than other major Italian wine areas, the company positions itself as a reality that enhances and promotes local viticulture, helping to bring visibility to wines of strong character and market potential.
In summary, Tenuta del Castello stands out for its unique territory, historical identity, oenological quality, thoughtful use of modern technologies, and its ability to offer wine-related experiences — all within a particularly evocative geographical and cultural setting.
