WINES CRAFTED UNDER THE ANDES SUN SINCE 1958
Born under the Andes sun in 1958, Putruele is a family-owned winery from San Juan, Argentina, dedicated to crafting wines of exceptional quality. Our story begins with Don Carlos Putruele, who recognized the extraordinary potential of the region and chose the Tulum Valley to build a winery rooted in passion, perseverance, and a deep respect for the land.
Our heritage traces back even further, to 1923, when the Putruele Group was founded by Italian immigrants who brought with them a strong tradition of production, trade, and agricultural expertise. This legacy of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement still guides us today as we evolve to meet a changing world while staying true to our origins.
Our vineyards span some of San Juan’s most distinctive winegrowing areas—Tulum, Zonda, Ullum, and Pedernal—ranging from 650 to 1,400 meters above sea level. With more than 300 days of sunshine, pure Andean meltwater for irrigation, and the unique influence of the Andes Mountains, these valleys offer ideal conditions for vibrant, expressive wines with a strong sense of place. We look forward to welcoming you at Wine Paris to discover the authentic soul of San Juan in every glass.
We are pioneers in Gualtallary, a world-renowned high-altitude wine region in the Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina. Our boutique winery owns vineyards located at more than 1,500 meters (4,930 feet) above sea level, right in front of the prestigious Adrianna Vineyard (Catena Zapata), producing wines of character and refined elegance.
All our wines come from 100 hectares of estate vineyards, irrigated by melted snow from the Andes and carefully crafted in our state-of-the-art winery. We work closely with world-renowned winemaking consultant Alberto Antonini, who is also guiding our conversion to organic viticulture.
We also host a lodge immersed in nature, a regional gourmet restaurant, and a stable with over 100 purebred Creole horses.
Our main brands are Gualtallary and Altus. Recently, we launched La Vencedora, a tribute to the strength and resilience of women.
We consistently receive high scores and awards in competitions and from critics such as Decanter, Vinous, James Suckling, Descorchados, among others.
We are proud to own the Gualtallary brand and carry the legacy of being pioneers in what is now one of Argentina’s most prestigious appellations.

Proemio – Prologue in old Medieval Spanish, stands for kick- start or first page. This is indeed the beginning of the winery’s story. In 2001, Marcelo Bocardo, third generation winemaker and the descendant of a traditional Italian immigrant family founded Proemio with the goal of producing high quality wines that truly represent his ancestors’ passion for viticulture and a legacy for the generations to come.
Marcelo Bocardo could be described as a new wave winemaker of Argentinian wines, avoiding over extraction and heavy use of oak, focusing on expression of the terroir (i.e. Uco Valley, Pedriel-Luján de Cuyo and Maipú).
In 1915, 10 years after sailing from Italy, Enrico Tittarelli founded one of the most important wineries in Argentina, TITTARELLI WINES.
100 years later we evolved technologically, keeping and honoring his entrepreneurial spirit and love for the fruit of our land. The winery was recycled under high-quality standards, respecting the historic heritage. Our talented enologists and wine experts continue to show that it takes much more than counting on the best raw materials to obtain a well-balanced wine. In this respect, nature, tradition, and technology live together in harmony at Tittarelli.
Tittarelli was founded in a very special geographic point, 33 degrees south latitude, Rivadavia, highly appropriate for vine cultivation. The weather in this area offers wide thermal amplitude most of the year, with sunny hot days and cool nights, typical of a desert-like weather that prevails in the region.
Our winery has stainless steel tanks of Italian origin of various shapes and clocks, refrigeration equipment, pneumatic presses, destemmers, filters, pumps and a tangential filter of the latest generation that works automatically 24 hours a day, which It allows us to maximize our production and at the same time improve the organic qualities of our wines. We have a temperature-controlled wine cellar of more than 100 years old, where French and American barrels are conserved.
The bottling capacity is about 3,000 bottles per hour, and the stowage is processed in our underground cellar with a capacity of up to 800 thousand bottles.
The fermentation area is made of 26 stainless steel tanks and 121 concrete tanks that can host up to 9 million liters of wine.
Uko Wines is a new project, established in 2006 with the idea of creating small lots of high-quality wines, delicately cared for throughout the winemaking process. It is a two close friends’ collaboration, both from 2nd family generation related to the wine business, present in more than 15 countries. Following their vision, they decided to invest mostly in the main oasis where the best vines are grown in Argentina: Uco Valley, giving the name to the brand. Our wineries have medium size facilities (700.000 to 800.000 liters capacity), located in Mendoza. They combine age-old tradition with the latest innovation.
