Pormenor, by the hand of our founder winemaker, Pedro Coelho, was born from a simple belief: that great wines come from patience, restraint, and a deep respect for nature. Our “less is more” philosophy guides every decision, from the vineyard to the bottle, allowing the character of each place to speak for itself.

We work with old vines — some over a century old — rooted in schist and granite at high altitudes across the Douro. These vineyards, scattered across different slopes and exposures, give us grapes with natural freshness and minerality, a rare balance in a region known for its warmth. Each parcel tells its own story, shaped by soil, altitude, and time.

In the cellar, we follow the same quiet approach. Gentle macerations, thoughtful ageing, and minimal intervention allow the wines to evolve at their own pace. The result is a collection of wines that share our signature elegance and purity, yet each carries its own personality — some more structured, others more delicate, all true to their origin.

Our wines are crafted to be enjoyed young, when their energy is vibrant, but they also have the depth and harmony to age gracefully. Above all, they reflect what we value most: authenticity, balance, and the unique voice of the Douro’s old vines.
