We have vineyards in the town of Barolo, in the Langhe area, in Roero and in Monferrato Nicese. We have been making wine and aging it in the ancient cellars of Marchesi di Barolo, where we welcome wine lovers who want to taste the history, scents and expressions of this legendary wine, Barolo: the King of Wines, the Wine of Kings.
Today, with Ernesto and Anna, and their children Valentina and Davide, winemaking has been in our family for six generations. After buying the ancient cellars of Marchesi di Barolo in 1929, we have devoted ourselves to the activity that Marchesi Falletti had started at the beginning of the 19th century, as faithful interpreters of the rich diversity of these places, vineyards, and varieties.
Our knowledge of the territory, together with our respect for varietal purity, has increasingly led us to focus on a specific management for each vineyard parcel. It is our winemaking principle to use the grapes separately, in order to keep their characteristics intact.
For the last two centuries, in keeping with the evolution of the grapes and the wine, the spaces have improved, too. They have been partially turned into comfortable rooms where you can taste, savour and, at the same time, immerse yourself in history and culture.
The cellars where we age our wines today are the same where Barolo wine was created thanks to an intuition of Marchesa Giulia Falletti Colbert. With consistent and meticulous restoration, the five centuries-old casks that belonged to her (“Botti della Marchesa”) are still perfectly intact and efficient.
An exclusive collection of Barolo riserva, from rare vintages going back to the end of the 19th century to the most recent ones, is carefully preserved in the same place where the wines were created.
