LAFAZANIS Winery is a contemporary winery with more than 75 years history, situated in a picturesque location of Ancient Cleones in Nemea – Peloponnese.
The wine-making activity of LAFAZANIS family starts back in 1940s.
The first winery was set up around 1965 in Attica by Vassilis Lafazanis and in 1993 Spyros Lafazanis (second generation) moved the family's winemaking activities to the NEMEA region.
The LAFAZANIS family today owns 2 additional wineries: NESTOR in Messinia and AMBELOS in Achaia. We cultivate more than 13 different grape varieties (including rare and international varieties) on 500 acres of privately owned vineyards in different terroirs and export our wines to more than 15 markets in three continents.
Our winery produces top quality wines. We produce red, white and rosé dry and semi-sweet wines, from indigenous Greek varieties such as Agiorgitiko, Moschofilero, Malagouzia, Assyrtiko, Mavrotragano, Kydonitsa, etc., some rare Greek varieties such as Fileri and some other international varieties such as, Merlot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Saunignon.
In the last few years our winery has experienced an astonishing growth in its export sales, which is the result of the exceptional quality of our wines, and the numerous awards that they have been accredited with, in international wine competitions and contests.
Our export wine range consists of the following wines: the NEMEA KLEONES TERROIR (from Agiorgitiko grape variety) in the most premium category, KYDONITSA White and MAVROTRAGANO Rose from organic cultivation, the GEOMETRIA series (from representative indigenous grape varieties) in the middle category, FILERI gastronomical wines (from the very rare Fileri grape variety), the AVARINO series in the entry level and the BREAK THE GLASS series at attractive prices mainly for wine bars or S/M chains.
