Greece
Co-exhibitor of GREAT EXHIBITIONS
Nestled in the heart of Drama, Northern Greece, Wine Art Estate is the creation of Yiannis Papadopoulos, a civil engineer, and Yiannis Kalaitzidis, an architect — two friends united by their passion for wine and art. Founded in 1993, the estate was born from their shared vision to combine technical precision with creative expression, producing wines that reveal the distinctive character of Drama’s terroir — a region defined by limestone soils, a gentle continental climate, and a rich winemaking heritage.
The privately owned vineyards, covering around 70 hectares, are planted with both Greek and international varieties including Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Xinomavro, Agiorgitiko, Limniona, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Nebbiolo, Touriga Nacional, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. The estate’s philosophy combines respect for nature, meticulous craftsmanship, and artistic sensibility, yielding wines of purity, balance, and depth.
Today, the new generation — led by Akis Papadopoulos, chemist and Bordeaux-trained oenologist — continues the founders’ vision while guiding Wine Art Estate into a new era of sustainability and global reach. Under his leadership, the estate has undertaken a complete conversion to organic viticulture, reaffirming its commitment to environmental responsibility and authentic winemaking.
As of the 2025 vintage, several wines — Techni Alipias White & Rosé, Plano Assyrtiko, Idisma Drios Assyrtiko, and Pink Bang — are now certified organic and vegan, marking an important milestone in the estate’s evolution. The goal is for all labels to be organically certified in the near future.
From the emblematic Techni Alipias range — the cornerstone of the estate — to the terroir-driven Plano and Idisma Drios labels, and the expressive Anafora Limniona and Pink Bang, each wine captures the harmony between creativity, science, and place.
Exported to more than 20 countries, Wine Art Estate has earned international recognition for its consistent quality, modern design, and numerous distinctions in prestigious competitions and publications.
At Wine Art Estate, winemaking is an art — a dialogue between human creativity, scientific precision, and the natural beauty of Drama.
