About

The Dürnberg winery is located in the traditional village of Falkenstein,
the historic heart of the Weinviertel, about 1 hour north of Vienna.
Viticulture has been documented here since the 12th century, and between the 13th century and the 17th century
Wine-growing matters between Vienna and Brno were regulated by the Falkenstein Mountain Court. The memorable labels show an excerpt from one of the oldest wine codes, the Falkensteiner Bergtaidingbuch from 1309. An authentic homage to the region's long winemaking tradition.
The cool characteristics of the wines are the result of an exceptional terroir. On the lime-rich soils and thanks to a favorable microclimate, the grapes reach ideal ripeness. This creates wines with fine aromas.
     pronounced fruit and vital acidity.
Of course, Grüner Veltliner is the leading variety in all its facets. Another focus is on the Burgundy varieties, which show the great potential around Falkenstein from the limestone-rich altitudes.
