Anchored on the land of Saint-Cyr-en-Bourg since 9 generations, the Domaine de Nerleux is a family wine estate in the Loire Valley. The Nerleux, “black wolves” in old French, made way a long time ago for the vines. Amélie Neau succeeded her father Régis in 2011 and now manage the vineyard of 30ha. The winemaker has been able to push forward her practices to add modernity while keeping some of the tradition related to her heritage. This is how Amélie want to continue the work initiated by her father: to move towards practices that are increasingly respectful of the environment and since 2022, the Domaine has been certified Organic Farming. Nerleux wines are exceptional for their freshness, but also for the diversity of the grape varieties (Cabernet Franc, Chenin, Chardonnay) and the appellations (Saumur Blanc, Saumur Champigny, Saumur Rosé, Crémant de Loire, Coteaux de Saumur). The vineyard produces red wines, dry or sweet white wines, a rosé and bubbles. There are wines for all occasions and for all markets (professionals and individuals), fresh wines easy to drink or wooded wines to decant… In terms of vinification, quality and requirement are Amélie’s key words. Passionate and committed, she is even more during this crucial stage. Indeed, it is her sensitivity that prevails in decision-making, bringing a wind of femininity to the wines of Domaine de Nerleux.
