The Domaine de Colonat, Winner of the World's Best Gamay Trophy 2024
The Domaine de Colonat has been honored with the World's Best Gamay Trophy for 2024 and invites you to discover the excellence of its cuvée at the Wine Paris exhibition.
Family Heritage: Vignerons for seven generations, the Collonge family passionately cultivates 12 hectares of vineyards in the emblematic crus of Beaujolais. Located in Villié-Morgon, the Domaine de Colonat produces exceptional wines in AOC Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Chiroubles, Brouilly, Régnié, and Beaujolais Blanc.
Thomas Collonge: Trained in viticulture-oenology in Beaune, Thomas Collonge expanded his experience in renowned vineyards such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Meursault, and the Coonawarra Valley in Australia. In 2008, he returned to his roots to join the family estate, working alongside his parents, Christine and Bernard.
Evolution Towards Excellence: For a decade, his father imparted his expertise, shaping the estate towards ever-increasing quality and precision. Since 2018, the dynamic duo formed by Julie and Thomas Collonge continues this quest for excellence.
Exceptional Parcel Selections: Julie and Thomas have identified the finest terroirs, resulting in five distinct parcel selections: Moulin-à-Vent Les Thorins / Les Greneriers; Morgon Aux Pillets / Ruyère / Grandes Terres.
