The Domaine de Cabrol is a family estate for three generations on the southern slopes of the Black Mountain, in the Languedoc region. The estate is a haven of biodiversity, welcoming wildlife in an environment of garrigues, holm oaks, pines, olive trees, almond trees, wild thyme and multiple endemic species. Lost in this raw and wild nature, the vineyards, which occupy only 1/sixth (21 hectares) of the 125 hectares of the estate, are cultivated on natural clay-limestone slopes and terraces. All parcels are located between 300 and 350 meters of altitude. The freshness of our wines as well as their beautiful perfumes owe a lot to this altitude situation in Languedoc. Our wines are precise, racy and energetic. The cellar work has been designed to simply express this unique Languedoc terroir. It is based on gravity and respectful methods thanks to a historic cellar that follows the slope of the mountain. We use long, gentle and controlled macerations, without any wood (concrete and stainless steel vats).
The fine red wines of the Domaine de Cabrol (Vent d'Est, La Dérive, Vent d'Ouest) have received many favorable ratings, critiques and awards over the years, making the domaine a quality reference in the western Languedoc, and in particular in the Cabardès AOC. Our new white wine cuvée (Pique de Nore) has also attracted the attention of tasters for its freshness. Requieu is our core wine: it is fruity and already on black fruit notes and merges Syrah and Cabernet sauvignon. We also pay a lot of attention to our entry-level wines: Blue Note (grenache syrah) and Red Notes (old Languedoc varieties, syrah and some cabernet sauvignon).
