Feudo Disisa is located at the heart of north-western Sicily, into Monreale’s territory sited in the province of Palermo, among the Belice and Jato valleys. The vineyard’s comprehensive 400 hectares of soil - whose 150 are cultivated with grapes and 90 with olives – spread over the typical DOC Monreale’s terroir made of slopes and graceful hills with an altitude between 350 and 500 meters above sea level. Only the best grapevine varieties end up to be cultivated, both autochthonous ones like Perricone, Nero d’Avola, Grillo, Catarratto, Inzolia, both international, such as Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay. Main destined-to-oil olive cultivations are Cerasuola, Nocellara and Biancolilla. The origins of the estate are rooted in the norman period (XII century), when King William II gave this land in gift to Monreale’s Archbishop. Disisa comes from arabian “AZIZ” which means “wonderful”, one term that describes well the marvellous landscapes of “Conca D’Oro”, the valley of Palermo, the sicilian main town. Di Lorenzo family, owner of the estate since two centuries – managed to put together ancient tradition and avant-garde technology, while testing the fittest cultivations for the specifical microclimate conditions of this territory and turning, with passion, dedication and effort, these old pastures and orchards into lush vineyards and olive groves.
