Quinta do Combro
Heritage, authenticity and a passion for the Douro
We are the fifth and sixth generations of the Cálem family, with deep roots in Douro winemaking. Following our journey at the historic Quinta da Foz and Quinta do Sagrado — where we crafted wines such as VT'04 and VT'05 — we restructured our family project to create Quinta do Combro.
Located just 5 km from Pinhão, in the village of Vilarinho de Cotas, Quinta do Combro is set in the heart of the Douro Valley, where we cultivate old vines under organic farming practices, preserving the authenticity of the terroir.
We focus on small-scale production of still wines — white, red and rosé — using traditional methods: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, foot treading in lagares, and aging in French oak barrels. In addition to wine, we also produce organic olive oil from our estate.
Our project also embraces wine tourism, with a charming rural guesthouse offering five rooms, guided tours of the winery, and immersive wine experiences that celebrate the culture and flavours of the Douro.
