L'Agriate, cradle of Clos Teddi, is known to have been home to human activity since the Neolithic and was once called "Corsica’s attic".
A fertile land where citrus fruits, olive trees and fig trees were cultivated which fascinated Jo Poli. In the late sixties, he settled in Teddi, below Monte Genova (Agriate highest point at 421 meters above sea level). He throws himself into long-term work to realize his dream: planting vines in the middle of a desert area. The grape varieties chosen for these 40Ha of planted vines: Niellucciu, Vermentinu and Sciaccarellu.
He died suddenly in 1991, leaving behind a daughter, Marie-Brigitte, the current estate owner. At 17, she chose to take up the torch and rolled up her sleeves to continue her father's adventure.
After 27 years of hard work, Clos Teddi has established itself as an essential reference in the Patrimoniu appellation and the Corsican vineyard. Each year, 150,000 bottles are produced to be tasted in Corsica, mainland France but also in the finest establishments in New York, Japan, Shanghai and... Wallis and Futuna!
Since 2014, Marie-Brigitte and her team have been creating and perfecting the estate's wines in a modern cellar serving tradition (stainless steel vat, barrel cellar, and more recently concrete vat and stoneware jar, pneumatic press, gravity reception ...).
This international recognition crowns the patience and determination of a winegrower who knew how to pass on the love of her profession to her children. In Teddi, the succession is already assured: much more than a family story, the passion for an exceptional terroir.
