The professional body the “Conseil Inter-professionnel des Vins de Corse” was formed in 2008. It reunites 135 independent producers, 160 coope- rative members and 4 wine coope- ratives. Its principal function is the governance of the sector, and to act as its representative before the public authorities at regional, national, and European levels. Its role is also to define development strategy, implemented annually via a promotional action plan. The vineyards of Corsica, like vineyards the world over situated in temperate regions, must adapt to current evolutions in the climate and respond to the consumer’s desire for more meaning, an identifiable sense of place, and authentic stories. The strength of Corsican wines lies in their willingness to adapt, to highlight and cultivate the native grape varieties of Corsica. These island wines have found success by appealing to informed wine lovers and professio- nals in search of wines with a difference. Today this strong identity is indisputably the major asset of the Wines of Corsica
The Cave d'Aléria:
Since 1976, our winemakers have been crafting authentic wines across 1,500 hectares of vineyards in eastern Corsica.
Nestled between the sea and the mountains, our unique terroir benefits from an exceptional climate and diverse soils, producing wines that are balanced, refined, and aromatic.
Signature grape varieties: Sciaccarellu, Niellucciu, and Vermentinu, true treasures of Corsican viticulture.
Rooted in tradition and driven by innovation, we passionately embrace progress while respecting our environment.
Cave d’Aléria: the spirit of Corsica in every glass.
Clos Capitoro is a historic, family-owned wine estate in Corsica, located in the Ajaccio region in Southern Corsica. With six generations of winemakers, the Bianchetti family combines tradition and innovation to produce precise wines that faithfully express their terroir.
Clos Capitoro has long been committed to respecting its land and to sustainable farming practices, and is certified HVE3 (High Environmental Value – Level 3).
Today, as Eloïse Bianchetti, I embody the first female winemaker and owner of Clos Capitoro.
Clos Capitoro is made up of two main vineyard sites:
Punta di Cucco, where Sciaccarellu fully expresses its fruity, fresh, and crunchy character
Capitoro, where endemic grape varieties such as Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, and Minustellu reveal their full power and depth
Since 2024, my team and I have undertaken an in-depth review and refinement of every stage of the production process. Production is predominantly focused on red wines, which account for 60% and are the hallmark of Clos Capitoro. Rosé wines represent around 20%, as do white wines made from Vermentinu.
Domaine ‘Alzipratu – PDO Corse Calvi (Zilia, Balagne)
🍇 12 grape varieties | 🌊 Between sea & mountains | 🌱 100% Organic | 🤲 Family-owned since the 1960s
Located in the heart of Balagne, Haute-Corse, Domaine ‘Alzipratu produces elegant and expressive wines that reflect the unique identity of Corsica — an island where the Mediterranean meets the mountains.
Founded in the 1960s by Maurice Acquaviva, the estate is now managed by Pierre and Marc’Andria Acquaviva, continuing a family tradition rooted in authenticity, terroir and innovation.
Our 40-hectare organic vineyard benefits from an exceptional microclimate — cooled by sea breezes and protected by the Monte Grossu mountain — ideal for crafting fresh, aromatic and well-balanced wines.
We cultivate both traditional Corsican grape varieties (Niellucciu, Sciaccarellu, Vermentinu) and rare indigenous ones (Biancu Gentile, Minustellu, Aleaticu…), offering a distinctive expression of the PDO Corse Calvi, the first French appellation fully converted to organic farming.
💡 Our mission: Create wines of character that tell the story of our land — pure, vibrant, and deeply Corsican.
📍 Location: Zilia, Balagne, Haute-Corse
🌱 Farming: 100% Organic
🍷 Appellation: PDO Corse Calvi
👨👩👦 Family estate: Acquaviva family, 3 generations
Taken over in 1990 by Joël Rossi and Jean Curallucci, Domaine Petra Bianca lies at the heart of the Figari appellation, on sun-drenched hillsides of granitic sands. From the outset, the owners undertook an ambitious restructuring of the vineyard to reveal the full singularity of this terroir in the south of Corsica.
Alongside historic grape varieties — Sciaccarellu, Niellucciu, Vermentinu, Grenache and Syrah — the estate also promotes indigenous varieties such as Riminese, Genovese and Minustellu, precious witnesses to the island’s ampelographic heritage.
This approach, combining tradition, high standards and respect for the land, has led to the creation of wines that have become benchmarks of the appellation.
Certified organic since 2008, Petra Bianca is now engaged in a conversion to biodynamic farming, affirming a viticulture respectful of living ecosystems and soil balance. Each cuvée expresses with precision the mineral and solar identity of the Figari terroirs.
