Originally from Saint-Émilion, I decided from the beginning of my professional career to expatriate myself to experience other cultures. The birth of our first son, Matteo, triggered our desire, my wife and I, to return to Saint-Emilion and build a family project.
In 2016, my father and I took over the Château Clos des Abbesses, located in Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens, a few kilometers from Saint-Émilion. Passionate about wine and epicureans at heart, we modernized the entire estate, restructured the vineyard plots, and the operational buildings (cellars, storage, and tasting room).
Indeed, we wanted to improve the winemaking and aging process of our wines to highlight the essence of our terroir. By choosing this beautiful winemaking profession, we decided to work with Mother Nature: understanding nature and its cycles, thinking long-term, respecting the environment in vineyard management, and adapting our methods to climate change.
We also decided to work as a family. Every decision, project, or even bottle reflects our passion for wine. Quality, innovation, self-reflection, and respect for nature are thus part of the DNA of our family and our estate.
