Chateau d'Arche is a 17th century French château located in the Bordeaux wine region, more precisely in the village of Sauternes. Classified as a second growth in 1855, Chateau d'Arche is renowned for its production of sweet white wines, in particular Sauternes, a highly prized wine made from grapes affected by the noble rot fungus Botrytis cinerea. The vineyards are planted mainly with Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle and the estate covers 100 hectares including 90 hectares of vines along with an eco-responsible winery, inaugurated in 2019. The Château d'Arche wine range consists of more than just Sauternes, like a dry white wine, a Graves red wine, and a traditional method sparkling white wine elaborated with our Sauternes Grand Cru wine! The entire vineyard is undergoing organic conversion and will officially have its first 100% organic vintage in 2024. Actively engaged for the past 10 years in a socially responsible approach to preserving biodiversity, Château d'Arche joined the ISO 14001 (environmental management system) SME pilot group in 2010, and in 2017 received "High Environmental Value" level 3 certification for its compliance with environmental requirements, its phytosanitary strategy, and fertilization management. Working with horse-drawn ploughing, winter sowing and our own electric tractor illustrate a perfect blend of tradition and modern technologies. Château d'Arche is also a pioneer in wine tourism at Sauternes, thanks to its various halls for weddings, seminars and other private events along with its eight-room hotel, which offers visitors an authentic experience.
