Château Montana was founded at the end of the 19th century. Jean Jonquères d'Oriola, from a family of farmers established in the Eastern Pyrenees for more than 5 centuries, has been working, guided by his passion, to develop with his family the finesse and power of this terroir as well as the potential of these places. The vineyard covers sixty hectares on two terroirs in the Aspres on the foothills of the Pic du Canigou, between sea and mountain, south of Perpignan. We work on clay-limestone soils with traditional grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre as well as other varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan and Muscat. We are now certified "High Environmental Value", leaving room for traditional methods, such as mechanical working of the soil, respect for the environment, promoting biodiversity and keeping yields low. Now in its second year of organic conversion, our production will be certified for the 2023 vintage. Our wines are vinified, matured and bottled at the property in our cellar equipped with thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks and a barrel cellar. Château Montana, in addition to its viticultural activity that it makes you discover through visits and tastings, proposes to you to rent its room and its lodgings, being able to accomodate any type of events.
