Co-exhibitor of CHAMPAGNE DE VIGNERONS
Founded in 1935, Champagne Fluteau is one of the pioneering wineries of the Cote de Bars. The Fluteau house was born from the passion of Emile Hérard and his son in law, Georges Fluteau, to create Champagne from this newly recognized wine growing region. The company developed rapidly after the war and the distribution expanded to several European countries and then on an international level. Jeremy is now dedicated to carrying the family legacy forward by modernizing the winery and establishing innovative champagne cuvées.
Our Champagnes are estate grown: only grapes grown on our vineyards are used to produce Champagne Fluteau. Situated on slopes along the Seine River valley, the vineyard is planted with a majority of Pinot Noir with 15% Chardonnay, ideally suited for the clay soils and cool climate of the Cote de Bars region. We are hands-on growers: at champagne Fluteau we are certified sustainable HVE since 2017.
Housed in the original underground hillside cellar, the winery is a fusion of old and new with the introduction over the years of more modern specialized equipment. We proudly craft every element of our production on-site, from gently pressing the grapes in our state-of-the art wine press, to vinification, bottling, ageing, riddling, disgorging and labeling.
Our stock is rotated over at least three years to achieve optimum ageing, ensuring the development of complex aromas, fine bubbles, and a perfect mousse. Disgorgement is achieved semi-automatically at least four months before releasing each bottle, so the added liqueur is well-mixed with the wine.
