Co-exhibitor of CONSORZIO DI TUTELA VINI D ABRUZZO
Castorani is a leading Italian Winery located in Abruzzo, co-founded by Mr Jarno Trulli, former F1 racing driver, and Lucio Cavuto, Managing Director. We are a dynamic and innovative winery with a focus on producing high-quality wines, which are a fusion between the traditions of our Regions’ old winemakers and new technologies.
We are located in the Province of Pescara, on the Alanno hills, 350 meters above sea level. Our estate is framed by two of the most important mountain ranges in central Italy: the Majella Mountain and the Gran Sasso.
The estate enjoys excelled exposure to sunlight and cool night winds: ideal conditions to ensure a perfect and natural process of ripening of the grapes. Our vineyards extend for 100 hectares and have always been treated with traditional methods. The land on which our vineyards are located is of sedimentary nature, rich in rocks and minerals that give a unique saline and mineral taste to our wines. A further uniqueness of our winery is that our winemaker, who exclusively works for Castorani, only works with concrete tanks. Unlike inox tanks, concrete tanks allow us to obtain a natural and prolonged maceration of the grape skins with the must, as well as a better ageing of the wine.
Our estate is composed of a high-tech winery, entirely built underground to benefit from a constant temperature all years round and to avoid modifying the beautiful landscape in which we are located, modern offices, brand new guest bedrooms and a historic Villa dating back to the 18th Century, which symbolizes our winery’s strong ties with the tradition of Abruzzo. We are an ever-growing and expanding company, always looking to improve our customer outreach as well as our company’s profile.
We produce a wide variety of wines to suit all needs and tastes, but all are of exceptionally high quality. Indeed, some of our top wines, as the Amorino Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and the Podere Castorani Casauria Riserva, have been awarded the prestigious 3 Bicchieri Gambero Rosso award for 15 years in a row now.
