Co-exhibitor of CONSORZIO DI TUTELA VINI D ABRUZZO
Casal Thaulero takes its name from the small town of Casal Thaulero (TE) where the rolling hills of Abruzzo meet the Adriatic Sea. Here lived the noble Thaulero family, Giovanni Thaulero is the founder of the first winery in Abruzzo and he can be considered the precursor of viticulture in Abruzzo.
Since 2005 Casal Thaulero winery belongs to Citra Vini Group, the main winery in Abruzzo based in Ortona. All vineyards are in Chieti province and mainly located in the hills. They are surrounded by the Adriatic Sea to the east and by two mountains to the west: Majella and Gran Sasso, which is the highest peak of the Appennines chain. This part of Abruzzo has a unique terroir which allows vineyards to be caressed by sea breeze and mountain currents, creating microclimates with ideal temperatures for the growth of grapes. This is a great value because can ensure a good quality grapes.
