Caruna: the project, the wines, Monte Orfano Franciacorta (IT)

Caruna started in 2000 with the purchase of a ruined 19th-century farmhouse and thirteen hectares of land at the foot of Monte Orfano. A slow journey, in tune with the rhythms of the land, to which the family has been connected for generations. The farmhouse, now a modern winery, has come back to life with respect for the past, ready to tell new stories of conviviality and wine. Our Franciacorta wines are born from this distinctive land and aim to express it with authenticity. Minerality, savoriness, and expressive precision define our style shaped by a philosophy that is as natural as possible and faithful to the identity of the fruit.

Our range Extra Brut, Brut, Satèn, Nature Millesimato, Satèn Millesimato, and Riserva Elen captures the nuances of Monte Orfano with an essential, contemporary, and naturally elegant style: “Naturally Chic”. Monte Orfano, on the southern edge of Franciacorta, is a rare feature in Lombardy: once a marine island, with sedimentary soils and a mild microclimate. Here, the vine finds an ideal habitat that gives our wines character, finesse, and graceful evolution. In this secluded corner, a different Franciacorta can be felt: intimate, authentic, where the culture of wine has deep roots and continues to renew itself with respect and beauty.
