About

The history of Cantine Fontezoppa began in 1999, founded by the Luzi family, local entrepreneurs deeply rooted

in the region and its riches and unique characteristics.

The name pays homage to an ancient water source that once flowed just outside the walls of the medieval village

of Civitanova Marche Alta, where today the rows of vines stretch between the picturesque Porta Marina and the

calm Adriatic Sea.

At the heart of Cantine Fontezoppa lies the richness of two places: the horizon of the Civitanova sea, which lends

minerality and distinctiveness to the white grape varieties and the native Ribona, and the heights of the Sibillini

Mountains in Serrapetrona, which guarantee freshness, structure, and aromatic complexity to the Vernaccia Nera

grapes, along with elegant international varietals.
