Bosco de’ Medici is a wine estate and resort located in the Pompeii area, set amidst the vineyards on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. 

History & Philosophy: The roots of the estate go back to the 1970s, when the grandfather of the current owners began cultivating quality grapes for personal use. In 2014, the family launched the Bosco de’ Medici brand and invested in a dedicated winery to give a more definitive identity to their winemaking venture. Their approach is strongly tied to the land and tradition: they explore what they call “eno-archaeological” studies of grape varieties and traditional techniques, especially in relation to the volcanic terroir. 

Vineyard & Terroir: The estate covers roughly 8 hectares of vineyard, divided into several small plots on the Vesuvius slopes. Callmewine+1
 Soils are volcanic, giving their wines distinctive minerality and character. One line of production is the “Vesuvio” line, a tribute to ancient Vesuvius-area wines, including varieties and techniques revisited with a blend of experimentation and tradition.

• The Vesuvio line aims to resurrect or reinterpret the classical local wine traditions of the Vesuvius area. 
• They combine modern and traditional methods, with experiments in amphora fermentation, underground ageing, and use of indigenous or historic varietals.
