The company VILLA MEDICI was founded by Adelino Caprara in 1966 and now is run by the son Luigi, his wife Paola and their daughter Silvia. The name comes from the eighteenth century house surrounded by vineyards and located in Custoza, one of the districts of Sommacampagna’s Municipality.

The family estate vineyards are located, for about 34 hectares, on the last buttresses of the eastern morainal hills in the Garda Lake area, which were formed through the melting of the glaciers. For this reason the soil is chalky, clayey, stony and this gives us flavorsome (flavorous, savory) wines.

We are near Garda Lake, so the mild climate influences the characteristic of the grapes. The winemaking mission is to preserve the grape’s aromatic richness, by pursuing elegance and respecting their identity. Our production includes many different wines ranging from white wines, like our Custoza and Custoza Superiore, to rosè, with Chiaretto Bardolino and red wines, like Bardolino and Sommacampagna Bardolino.
