ocated in Traiskirchen, just 20 kilometers south of Vienna, in the heart of Austria’s Thermenregion, Weingut Alphart am Mühlbach is dedicated to crafting wines that express origin with clarity and character. Lorenz and Robert Alphart focus their passion on the region’s indigenous varieties Rotgipfler and Zierfandler, complemented by Burgundian classics such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Our mission is to create authentic wines shaped by their place of origin. Our 10 hectares of vineyards are managed with a clear commitment to responsible viticulture: we are certified Sustainable Austria (Nachhaltig Austria) and are in transition to organic farming. The character of our wines begins in the vineyard sites we cultivate—among them Mandelhöh, Pressweingarten, Otzler, Pfarrweingarten, and Ruffenbrunn—where fossil shell limestone soils and the interplay of climate and geology define a distinctive, mineral style. In the cellar, our role is simply to preserve and refine this natural signature with precision and restraint.
The consistent focus on terroir and quality has also gained international recognition, including a place in James Suckling’s “Top 100 Austrian Wines.”
Beyond the winery, we also run a charming Heurigenrestaurant, led by Cathi and Robert Alphart. Open around 150 days a year, it offers a welcoming space where wine lovers and gourmets can enjoy our wines alongside seasonal and regional specialties in a relaxed atmosphere. For us, it’s a vital connection to our guests—an opportunity to share our passion and bring the wines’ origins to life at the table.
