Driven by a vision and a passion, in the early 70s Costas Lazaridis set out on a journey that would reshape the destiny of his native land. He had a vision that Drama would become a symbol among the world’s renowned wine regions. What started as a modest 10-hectare plot has grown into the Greece’s largest privately owned vineyards, cultivating both native and international grape varieties, from Sauvignon Blanc and Assytiko to Cabernet Sauvignon and Agiorgitiko.
Costas Lazaridi’s passion for the vine went beyond the vineyard. He built Drama’s first state-of-the-art winery, crafted premium distillates and aged balsamics. Later he established the one-of-a-kind Wine Museum-Costa Lazaridi in Attica, preserving and promoting the heritage and stories of winemaking.
Today, with wineries in Drama and Attica, each bottle reflects his philosophy: “Great wines are born in the vineyards.” Every vine, every parcel, and every harvest continues the legacy of innovation, care, and deep respect for the land, bridging tradition and modernity in every glass.
At Estates Costa Lazaridi, sustainability and sustainable viticulture begin where the vine meets the nature. Our vineyards on the slopes of Drama and our organic vineyards at Lake Marathon in Attica are not just places of cultivation-they are living and dynamic ecosystems.
Today, all our vineyards are officially certified by the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation, and we are proud members of a global community committed to restoring the vitality of agricultural landscapes. At the heart of this approach lies a simple but powerful idea: when we care for the soil, we restore the balance of the entire ecosystem. Healthy soil gives life above and below the ground - it nurtures vines, supports biodiversity, and strengthens resilience against climate challenges.
Costa Lazaridi’s vision to establish Drama as a City of Wine has been fulfilled. Now, a new chapter begins. His sons, Gerasimos and George Lazaridis, are leading the Estates into a new era.

Château Loudenne is a historic property in the Médoc with more than 350 years of history.
Located 4km north of Saint Estephe on the last two gravel hills along the Gironde estuary.
All the greatest of the Médoc are located just on the edge of the estuary, on this exceptional terroir made up of the immediate proximity of the Gironde and soils very rich in gravel brought by the river. Loudenne is the last Château towards the North to benefit from this unique terroir
The property has a real environmental approach and its wines have been certified organic since the 2022 vintage and in conversion since 2019.
We are currently vinifying new wines to expand the range, Sulphite free, rosé, single-varietals and have other projects for the years to come.
Loudenne white is the oldest white in the Médoc since 1880 and a certain typicality.
Since the 2022 vintage we have been working with Stéphane Derenoncourt.
The only property to benefit from its own private port.
We have also developed new ranges of wines: Sulfite-free wines / 100% Malbec / Rosé
Our complementary vintages:
Our sulphite-free range and a plot selection of Merlot with aging in oval concrete vats.
This vintage makes it possible to respond to a very accessible “natural wine” demand from wine merchants and restaurateurs.
100% Malbec is a ready-to-drink wine with great freshness, very elegant and fruity.
Its price positioning perfectly matches the expectations of restaurateurs and wine merchants.
The rosé ‘Château Rose’ from Loudenne is a vintage similar to the rosés of Provence with a short extraction during pressing
Château Climens is the highest vineyard in the Barsac appellation, an incomparable terroir where one finds a truly wonderful expression of Semillon. Such innate distinction, completed by the consecutive owners’ great care, soon earned Climens the name of ‘Lord of Barsac’, and the title of First classified growth of Sauternes in 1855. The vineyard’s surface area, a single vineyard of 30 hectares has remained unchanged since the 16th century. In 1971, the finesse of its wines convinced Lucien Lurton, a famous Bordeaux wine-grower to purchase the estate. Since 1992, his daughter Berenice Lurton is taking great care in perpetuating the magic. She has converted in 2010 the whole vineyard into biodynamics, another expression of her involvement. Since July 2022, Moitry Family has taken the direction of Château Climens for a new adventure!
