The royal city is the epicentre of the future Amboise AOC.
« The journey is not yet complete, but all signs point to the imminent arrival of a new Loire appellation: Amboise. A geographical designation complementary to the Touraine AOC since 1955, Amboise covers 774 hectares spread evenly across both banks of the Loire, with the royal city at its epicentre. Intensified over the last twenty years and now driven by ambitious winegrowers (Bonnigal Bodet, Xavier Frissant, La Grange Tiphaine), work has been undertaken to define the geographical, soil and wine-growing characteristics of the area in order to highlight the specific qualities of Côt and Chenin grapes on these flinty clay plateaus. The result is white wines with a unique character, combining juicy flesh and energetic clarity, which stood out in our tasting. » P.Lepeltier
