Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada is the largest international wine competition in the Americas, and this year’s edition brought a distinctive evaluation process.
The Czech Republic has reaffirmed its position on the global wine map, bringing home 1 Grand Gold and 12 Gold Medals from Montréal. The Grand Gold Medal was awarded to Vinařství Volařík for its Johanniter, Selection of Grapes, 2024.
“The results from Montréal demonstrate the consistency and quality of our wines in strong international competition. A 30% success rate clearly shows that Czech winemaking has much to offer even in markets traditionally dominated by producers such as Portugal, France, Italy, and Spain,” said national sommelier Klára Kollárová, who participated in the evaluation as a tasting judge.
